Question about Water Heaters

Central heating and hot water have suddenly stopped working

My central heating and hot water has stopped working. The Worcester 24 i RSF boiler is still making a noise when I turn the heating on and when I turn on a tap but the water is just not heating up. Do I need to call an engineer or am I missing something simple?

Not an engineer but maybe a heating compant,, it sounds like you have a relay that has gone bad, you have what we call a winter summer system your domestic water comes from a tank inside the boiler, you might want to think about splitting the system to save you some money in the long run, seperate the water heater from the boiler so you only heat up in the winter, right now you are heating the system that heats your house to get 30 or 40 gals of domestic hot water, it would cost you less by seperating them

I HAVE WORCESTER 24SI BOILER , THE HEATING IS WORKING BUT NO HOT WATER THANKS.

Hi Mustafa, you are going to need a Gas Engineer to fix this one. It could either be the Hot water sensor or the flow switch that activates the water to come on. Good Luck.

I have an ariston 20/24 mffi combi pressure rises when switched to central heating but pressure ok when asking for hot water ? expansion vessel ?

over heat limit stat on central heating circuit ? if hot water is ok and hot to temp when run for 5 minutes the expansion vessel is doing its job.remember hot water is the maximum demand for any boiler ,,heating is secondry?once you establish hot water at maximum rate then the only real problem is on you demand for heating??

A trickle of hot water from taps, central heating ok

it sounds like your shut off valve might be bad even though it turns on and off by turing it doesn't mean that the washer is not stuck to the seat and not opening, try replacing the valve
