Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

When typing, my curser will usually jump to the middle of a previous sentence and start typing in the middle of another word. It does not seem to matter what program I am using. Any suggestions?

I've done that and I also went into the area where you can adjust the cursor speed and changed it from 1 to 5. At first I thought that fixed it, but within a few hours it was doing it just like before. I've spent hours on line with the Samsung techs and they keep sending me upgrades and downloads and nothing helped. Then they told me to take it to an authorized Samsung repair. I did that but, guess what? The darn thing wouldn't do the "jumping around" for them that it does consistently for me. They told me they could keep it for 2 weeks and do a complete clean-out but no guarantees. Or they could send it to Samsung and again, if it doesn't act like it acts for me, it will come back just like it was to begin with. I'm so frustrated I can't stand it. A friend of mine says laptops are famous for this and he just ignores it as much as he can. Now I can't do that. I'm cannot give up. There has to be a solution out there somewhere. Someone, somewhere has to know if it's software or hardware and what I need to do to get it to stop for once and for all. Please, please, somebody, can you help me?

Also, is this just a Samsung glitch or is it, like my friend says, common to laptop/notebooks?

When I type a sentence my curser will go back to the middle of the sentence and continue the sentence I am typing. Why?

Make sure you haven't got a watch/metallic bracelet on. It can interfere with the touch pad and move the cursor around unexpectedly.

While im typing, my curser skips back into the middle of my sentences, and i have to retype my whole sentence again...what is causing this to happen and how can i fix, thank you

if it is the same thing that happens to me you need to shut off your touchpad (mousepad) when you are typing as your fingers or palms cause the curser to jump if you touch it while typing

My curser keeps jumping into the middle of my sentence when i type.

If you have a laptop with a touchpad just below the spacebar be careful that you are not accidentally hitting the touchpad. I had an identical problem on one of my laptops, and simply switching to using a mouse and turning off the touchpad fixed the problem for me.

How can I stop my curser from jumping around whilst typing ?

Hello
Most probably because your 'Touch Pad Mouse' is touched by your palm (hand or something) while you are typing. Avoid contact with the mouse touch pad while typing.
Option 2:
If you have a centre moveable mouse on your laptop, start using it and disable the 'Touch pad mouse'
Best of luck!
