Question about Garden
Tractor is stuck in 4th gear, gear shift is free but will not go into gear. Am looking for a diagram or something that will give me an idea what to do. Could it be as simple as a cotter or shear pin?

I solved the problem after buying carb and fuel pump rebuild kits. The carb kit didn't fit anyway, but didn't need it. The problem was in the fuel filter. I had forgotten the problem happened when I ran out of gas. Inside the fuel filter is a washer held in place by a spring. Without fuel it apparently lost pressure and the washer slipped out of place about 1/2", which was enough to let all the gas through that could. The rebuild kit had a new rubber gasket. I won't let it run out of gas again.

Go to www.searspartsdirect.com Enter your model number in the appropriate box, when the page loads, look on the left side of the page where it says "Browse sub-components" and click on "tractor-schematic" this will open to a total wiring diagram for you
