Cannot disassemble weed trimmer to change battery

The battery seems shot as the trimmer will not charge up anymore. I can't separate the black plastic middle section to get the battery out of the upper compartment. I have removed all 16 screws and the lower motor end but still cannot get the black middle section or upper section housing the battery apart. Help! Model number is 51465

I have the SAME problem. Can't disassemble weed trimmer... Battery satisfactorily charge anymore! --- I could only remove two (2) of the so called other total screws. The instruction book does not ILLUSTRATE HOW this shoud/could be done EASILY!! I am a female, just thought it was because of my gender. This is downright crazy!!! I cannot even find a local store to replace the battery with here in Des Moines, Iowa. I bought the trimmer at home depot - they only carry black and decker batteries, but it makes no difference if I can't get a battery out in order to replace it. The gas trimmers are too heavy and the electric ones don't seem to be safe when walking on damp ground....

The battery will only blink on red. It won't charge.

Your battery is probably shot. The batteries for the Worx trimmers are terrible. They sell replacement batteries on ebay, but if you can afford it i highly recommend buying a quality trimmer from your local hardware store, either plug in or gas.

Black and decker 110 volt grasshog

The last time I used the weed wacker it kept stopping-almost like a short. The battery is fully charged and has a lot of power when working. Would the problem be in the handle and can that be taken apart to see if there is a loose wire?

Trimmer malfunction

Hi,

I had same problem, at first I could not find out how to seperate the small silver cover with the on/off switch from the rest. After removing the 3 torx screws, 1 at the power entrance, and 2 under the shaver blade. You can remove the black cover. I also removed 2 more torx screws to separate the battery, from the rest, (don't know if thats really necessary). The silver covers are 'clicked' into eachother. When lifted the part where the battery part was screwed into, the silver parts became partly seperated, then you can pull the part apart.
I cleaned/washed the trimmer part with wd40 contact spray.
Assembled the parts, and made sure that the little plastic nodge was came into the trimmer.
Cleaned it all (removed leaking wd 40) and works fine again.
Hopefully this is helpfull to anyone.

Goodluck,
Adrian
