Question about Zenith D52WLCD 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

52 inch zenith shuts down after 10-30 seconds

I have a 2004 52 inch Zenith rear projection lcd tv (D52WLCD). It shuts down after a few moments and flashes a red light above the bulb indicator. From what i have researched, this means the bulb needs to be replaced (which takes a special remote to reset the timer on). I bought the remote, and followed instructions hoping to reset the timer without replacing the bulb (i'm broke and don't have $200 at present) the tv responds to the remote until i get to the final "bulb replacement" screen, and then i can't get any reasonable reaction from the tv. i was hoping for a "replace bulb now" statement of something of that nature. i'm looking for some assistance, and specifically wondering ifthe timer circuit is located on the bulb itself or in the tv. any input will be greatly appreciated.

I had this same problem. The Zenith rep told me to unplug the TV, hold the power button down for 30 seconds, plug it back in and then turn it on. It worked and I haven't had a problem with it since. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

WHAT IS THE PART NUMBER FOR THE OPTICS/LIGHT ENGINE FOR D52WLCD??

It comes as a complete chassis assembly only and I have included a link to a website for purchase. The only issue is the cost is almost equal to purchasing a replacement TV. Please take a few moments to rate my response. Thank you..

ZENITH D52WLCD

I just found the solution on another model of Zenith TV. Hold the enter button down on the TV and the MUTE button on the remote. In approx. 5-7 seconds a screen will pop up asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Hit the bullseye button in the middle of the arrows and it will reset. Worked perfectly.

Zenith M52W56LCD blue spot in center of screen

It could be as simple as dust contamination in the LE or lcd chip. You need a clean room to work on this area of the unit and NOTHING you can do there would make that possible, short of spending a few thousand to build one. Before we added a clean room enviroment we simply pulled the LE and sent it in to PTS - who has one and reinstalled...
In your case take it to a qualified shop and you'll save yourself a lot of grief..
