you go to messages then to create msg then options den scroll down then you will see text size and click then click the left navigator then click apply

go to your inbox. then open a message and on the volume key just push it like if your going to turn the volume up. the volume key changes the size of font

I couldnt change mine in the options menu as jeckyb said, i just opened the message and you can control the font size with the volume button on the side of the phone! Found that out by mistake :) hope it helps
