E Machines Laptop

I have recently done a factory reset to my e machines laptop and when i turned it back on everything seems to be very big. Any idea how to zoom out a bit? Ive already tried going to control panel and zooming out on there but it is on the smallest one and the screen is still zoomed in a lot. It is on 100% but i think i need it on 80% or something...

Check your display driver in device manager, it probably needs updating.

How do I do a factory reset on an Asus sonicmaster

Did you make a repair disc when you first got the laptop , have you made a recent back up , if so run the repair disc and instruct it to repair from the back source. A factory reset is done by a hard drive format and a fresh install. all data on the laptop will be lost. You could try systems restore and restore to a earlier date , If restore points have been made it should work.

How do i reset my acer aspire to its factory settings

Hi and Welcome to Fixya!

To restore your machine back to the factory settings, just follow the simple step mentioned below. Be sure that you've backed up your personal files though before doing this because resetting your machine will wipre out any changes you have made on the machine.

For an Acer machine, just press Alt+F10 when you boot up the laptop. You will see Acer Recovery Management, select "restore system to factory default settings" then follow the on-screen instructions and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps!

Need factory settings to be reset on seimens fujitsu laptop. How do I do it please? i do not have the model number at present

There may be an option to reset the laptop to factory settings by exploring the boot up options when you turn on your laptop. Keep your eyes peeled for function key options when you power up the pc as I recently reset a Sony Vaio by using the factory reset/recovery application from DOS, worked like a charm. Conversely you might be able to use a system restore point within the operating system found in the control panel as long as the system restore date goes back far enough.

Hi can you help please,, My laptop has blank screen with a little white flashing line in top corner ??? Any ideas.

Welcome to Fixya

This means that windows is already corrupted. Possible cause would be virus issue, recent software installation or windows data corruption. You can still use your computer by restoring it to the origincal facotry state. Turn off the computer and press the small button right beside the power button. It will restore your computer back to original factory state.

Please take note that restoring the computer back to the factory state will delete everything inside the computer. The result would be like you open the computer out from the box.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Windows vista will not start on my aspire 3680

Have you recently experienced a power spike or installed / downloaded a program that may have had compromising effects on your machine?
I suggest trying to start the laptop in safe mode and see if you can repair the file system. If that is not possible and you are in need of backing up your information, an external laptop hard drive housing is always a good option so that you can remove your information and back it up before you proceed.
Once this is done is a satisfactory manner, you can also try system restore points (restoring your laptop to an earlier date) or starting up the laptop in Safe Mode and seeing if you can remove the threat etc. In the worst case scenario, doing a Factory Restore, This is a sure shot way of reinstalling Windows Vista but bear in mind you would lose EVERYTHING.

No sound is coming out of the laptop.

Opened the unit up recently and saw the problem: detached wire from the speaker. All it needed was a little soldering to attach the wire back to the speaker and presto! The sound was on again.

Hannspree 19" HF199H LCD - Display is LARGE on monitor!

Try Control Panel - Appearance or Display- You can change how your 2nd display looks there.. Sounds like you have it set in Clone mode...(both displays show the same things)...See if you can reset the 2nd display resolution while keeping the laptop in its normal resolution. Not all machines can do this...but most recent ones should be able to.

Factory settings

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

WorkCener 24 reset to factory defaults

That has to be done with the diagnostics software. That has to be on a laptop computer to access the NVM. Once connected to the machine from the computer, you can reset the NVM and all other settings back to default.
You can try shorting the NVM battery to reset the memory but I would NOT recommend that move .
