Cleaning the interior, especially the bottom where heated milk gets burned on.

90% of all my service calls were due to machines that were not cleaned DAILY. About a third of those were for espresso machines with a steamer and the rest for auto frothers. Most Barista's don't use auto frothers as they have very little control over the frothed milk. (Heat, froth density, firmness, holding, etc.) Milk(any type) will clog a machine in minutes if not cleaned up after use. Spoiled milk will contaminate any product with curds and have a bad smell to coffee.
* Clean up after any milk usage. Seconds count after frothing milk with a steam wand. Get workers in the habit of removing milk pitcher from wand and give the wand a short blast to flush the wand and wipe with a damp towel (tower wash and sanitized often) Leave the folded (quartered fold) next to wand on drain tray where it's always handy.) It only takes seconds to perform and customers appreciate the cleanliness and professional look.
* take a tip from Bartender's; you HAVE TO WASH WITH DETERGENT! when washing glasses that had milk drinks in them. Nobody want's a sour milk smell in any drink. Milk film can only be removed with soap and water and a brush. That's why you see automatic cup washers on every bar set up. It does take elbow grease to get these cups clean.
* Harden, cooked milk (coffee to) is best soaked in clean water (detergent optional) and let it sit over nite. This is a good practice to keep everything coffee/milk stain free as everything is washed/rinsed prior to use in the morning.
* Really, really baked on coffee (left burning on warmer for several days, weeks. Will need an urn cleaner to soak and wash out several times. Check with your coffee vendor as most will just swap them out with clean ones. Otherwise ask for urn cleaner from them and follow instructions. Hot water with a tablespoon of urn cleaner for each pot and let soak over nite. wash and rinse thoroughly prior to use.

Delonghi perfecta milk not hot enough

Ummn - something in your Q. seems not right. The milk is not heated directly - its only heated by the steam as it passes by (and picks up) by the milk using a venturi effect - same as a spray bottle attached to a garden hose. You say you have froth - but you can only get that if you have steam... (it does not just blow air thru to create bubbles). So froth = steam & steam = heat... so milk must be hot.
Suggest you check manual for the 'heat' settings for your expresso as this may have been changed. While this is adjustable, the milk is not.

Also always heat your cups before using them - the silver cup 'holder' at the top does a reasonable job but boiling water does far better.
Cheers Mike

Milk frozen, not making ice, water dispenser very slow

Hello. begin by turning the fridge to a warmer setting. It could be that the frozen milk is also an indication that the water tubes feeding the ice maker and the water dispenser are either frozen or slushy.

HOW TO DE SCALE THE Philips AVENT Digital Bottle

Mix one sachet of citric acid* (10g) with 200ml/7oz of water. Pour solution into the
empty warmer. DO NOT place a bottle, jar or cup into the warmer when de-scaling.
Close the lid of the warmer and programme the warmer to run with 310ml/11oz of
milk from frozen. After the warming cycle has ended, leave the solution to cool for
30 minutes before emptying the warmer and rinsing with tap water. Wipe the inside
and outside of the warmer with a damp cloth only.
OR:
Pour 100ml/3.5oz of vinegar mixed with 200ml/7oz of cold water into the warmer.
Allow liquid to stand in the unit until any limescale has dissolved. DO NOT place a
bottle, jar or cup into the warmer when de-scaling. DO NOT start the warming cycle.
Empty the unit and rinse thoroughly. Wipe the inside and outside of the warmer with
a damp cloth only.

My Nespresso milk frother did not come with instructions. Is there some way to froth but not heat the milk?

they make one that has the option of frothing milk hot or cold. Blue light is cold. Red light is hot. The red light will always heat the milk. To get to the blue light, you need to hit the button twice.( First will go to red)

Milk container won't fit onto front of machine

We had the same problem & worked out that it's because the actual milk container is too cold & has contracted from being in a cold part of the fridge. We moved the milk container to the door of the fridge ( it's a little warmer than the rest of the fridge) & it slotted in perfectly the next morning!

Cappuccinatore Milk Temperature on Saeco Royal Pro Machine

Hi

First open it up and run it without any milk attached until just mostly steam is coming thru. Turn off - then drop the tube into a jug of milk which is locted below the outlet. If its steaming, the milk will be heated up ok - it may need flow adjusting - lift the thin 'plug' near the tube up and down to adjust flow. You can add to the froth by lifting the tube out of the milk for a moment then back in again a few times.

To clean the unit just run clean water tru as tho it was milk until it comes out totally clear (about 1/4 cup). For hygiene sake make sure the tube is wiped clean on the outside with a clean paper each and every time when finished.
You can flush your main coffee lines out by making out its doing a large preground coffee - but don't put any preground in.

Select preground - select large coffee and go. Pays also to remove the brew unit and wash in warm water once a week - saves coffee goo building up and causing it to stick.

The milk can not be room temperature.  It needs to be cool, does not have to be fridge temperature but can not be warmer than room temperature
