SOURCE: Turntable tonearm returns but starts playing record over again.

http://www.vinylengine.com/library/pioneer/pl-570.shtml
on page 8 of the above service manual for your model it shows 4 electrical switches that tell the computer what 'state' the mechanism is in at any given time. Either one or more of the switches are intermittant or the mechanism has dried up grease that is slowing down the operation and basically gumming up the works. the old grease would have to be removed and replaced when it is causing binding. The switch just to the right of where is says "microswitch ksf-023" is an 'open air' type and so would be the most likely suspect. it simply needs to be cleaned with a super fine file designed only for cleaning switch contacts. THIS SERVICE SHOULD ONLY BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL ONLY!!!!!

SOURCE: tonearm goes to record and returns to start position without ever playing the record

Do you have an adjustable piece at the end nearest the pivot point [the bit that goes into the turntable] if you do then adjust the weight so there is more downward pressure on the record [ or just try putting weight on the tonearm ] and see if this helps

SOURCE: tonearm lifter in UP position - how to fix

I have also had this problem with the same model turntable. I opened mine up and the problem seems to have been that the grease on the arm lift and cueing lever was gumming up the linkage between the two. (I suspect that my turntable hadn't been used in some time.) I managed to free up the parts by manually working the the arm lift (pressing it down) several times. I'm not sure that I needed to open up the chasis for this fix but it did help me to see what was going on. Good luck with yours.

SOURCE: Bang and Olufsen Turntable will not platter will not spin

Normally on the RX-2 there are only 3 transit screws but if they are stuck you might need to gently try to lift them while turning anti clockwise. You can do this with a Steel Ruler and yoiu may have to use a little bit of force as some people torque them down tight. As for manuals and service manuals - they are rare!

My bang and olufsen 7002 wont select the phono stage

The Phono/Aux input has a slider switch to the left of it to choose whether to make it a regular line-in jack or to utilize the phono stage. The ground terminal is just above the jacks. The Beogram 4002 likely has a muting circuit that's in effect when the tonearm is in the lift position, which would explain the lack of hum til the stylus lowered to the record.

I have a Bang&Olufsen Beogram

Similar to most Beogram 1800, the RX 2 featured record sizing by weight. When Play was selected, the centre part of the platter would raise gently, with only just enough force to lift a 45RPM single. An LP would be too heavy to lift, so the mechanism would set itself to 45RPM and 18cm if the record lifted, 33RPM and 30cm if it did not. The speed control keys could then be used to override the choice for non-standard records. The parts could also detect if a record was not present, and prevent the turntable being activated
Just put lp on and it should work

My denon 26-f turntable stylus arm lifts about 2 minutes before end of record. how can this be adjusted on the turntable?

Hi Richard, at the base of the tonearm look for a rubber grommet. Under it you will find a screw. Adjust clockwise slightly to make the tonearm lift further along. Fine tune antil sorted. If the adjustment is not at tonearm base remove the rubber platter mat. If the platter has an access hole in it rotate platter so the hole is near the tonearm and look for scew to adjust. B&O Beogram 2000 turntable arm won't go down

Check to see if there is a cueing lever that is holding the arm in the up position.  If no cueing lever and it has worked recently then something has happened to the changer mechanism.  Open the bottom and look to see if there is an obvious problem like something stuck or broken.  You may be able to make the mechanism go through its cycle slowly by rotating the platter with your  hand so you can see where it is getting stuck.

Loud bang from speakers

i would suggest that you check the condition of the stylus, because the sound could be prouduced when the needle is lifted and the diamond tip is damaged so it makes a loud noise, normally a loud crack.
