Sound problem in Panasonic TV bought in Poland

I had purchased my Panasonic Model TX28LKIP TV in Warsaw (Poland).  Now brought the same to London.  While watching the video films through VCR the sound is just fine, but when connected to cable channels the sound is not coming only noise is heard.  Please help me to fix the problem.

I have connected the VCR to TV at VCR input point, even I pull the jacks out it does not make the difference.  In my TV, under the menu there is no sound source selection.  there is only the adjustment of sound volume.   My friends are telling that my TV does not have a PAL system which works in UK.  Please help me how to check the PAL system of my TV with the one compatible in UK, and how to get it fixed myself.
