Red and Black are L1 and L2 and attach to the flat angled spades. The White is the straight one. There will be a ******** the oven end at the terminals to connect the white to the cabinet(ground) White becomes your ground. With a meter:
Red to White = 120VAC
Black to White = 120VAC
Red to Black = 240VAC

Thermador c272ub double oven is it single fase wireing

yes,the black and red era the 2 wires that supply 120 volts each for the required 240 volts necessary to operate the oven,the white is the neutral wire and the green is the case ground wire,and it should be connected to any metallic part on the oven not with the white wire,only if the power supplying this oven comes directly from the main power panel in the house and isn't off a sub panel before the oven can this be considered ok to be connected together

red and black wires are the two "hot" power wires, the white is your "N" neutral connection and the bare goes to the appliance metel case as safety ground

Connecting wiring into oven

The house wiring was not up to code so the white wire was not supposed to connect to the white terminal on the stove. Instead the white wire connected to the red, the black to the black and bare ground wire connected to the white terminal thus providing ground and two termianls with 110 each.

I have a maytag double oven cwe5100acb that has a black/white/red and a ground wire(s). Where it will be install the wires are black/white and ground. I cannot figure out what wire connects to what. Any...

black= 120 volts to ground
red =the other phase of 120 volts to ground
white=neutral
green/bare = ground
you seem to have a 120 volt wiring. you will need to change this wire to the panel from the existing, to # 6/3+ground you will need a 40 amp double pole breaker. THIS VOLTAGE/AMERAGE WILL KILL! If you are not an electician I would recomend hiring one, as, if done wrong the wiring can cause a fire or worse.

Admiral Clean-O-Matic oven: Power cord black red white ground?

Your terminal block has been by-passed .
Hook your black cord wire to the black screw on the terminal block.
Hook your white wire to the white screw on the terminal block. Hook the bare ground to the exterior ground screw.
The 2 wires that are wire-nutted together will have to hook to the red wire on the cord.(they originally went to the third connection on the terminal).
You will probably have to cut and strip the red cord wire and attach it with the 2 wire-nutted connections.

Frigidaire self cleaning stove mod FEF369cgsb ser vf94422321 was originally wired direct and it shows 4 wires. Now I want to use a plug and outlet, 3 prong. How do you connect the 3 prong plug? thank you...

Vivian
the original wiring probably had a red, white, black, and green wire. It is 240 volts. The red is hot, carrying one leg of 120 volts. The black is also hot, carrying 120 volts. The white is neutral, and the green is the ground.

I am against altering this, but you can wire the red and black each to a hot leg, and wire the white and green to the bottom ground. This then introduces a ground wire to your neutral bar in the circuit panel, which is not the best way to do it, but will work.

Best to get an electrician to wire a 4 wire cable to a four prong outlet, and then use a four wire pigtail with a 4 pronged plug.

Lots of people modify it, they ground the green wire to the stove, where the wire originates,and to the box with the outlet in it where it hooks onto the plug if it is metal. Then you have a part ground. And that is assuming you have a cable with wires sticking out to wire to a plug.

Boils down to your decision. If the above isn't the case, get a four pronged outlet and wire the red and black to the top two prongs, the white to the neutral, and the green to the metal box it sits in.
