Grinder sound like it is grinding to fine. Increase the grinder size. Remember to only change grinder setting when the grinder is spinning.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I have more of a question then a problem.

Well maybe you can go back to the store you got it from and ask them what size is the bar pump.

SOURCE: clogged up filter

i'm not familiar with this machine but i think most espresso/capuccino machines' brewhead screen (that's what i call the screen your concerned about) are held in place by a screw in the middle. with machine unplugged & cooled down, remove the screw and take out the screen. if the buildup is really bad, you can scrub as much off as possible w/ hot water & soap, then hold it up between your face and a light (see light thru the holes?) any stubborn holes can be cleared with a pen or needle; you may need to wiggle the needle/pen inside each hole to clear it fully; this is time consuming so you may elect to use a decalcifier (i use 1/2 water and 1/2 lemon juice concentrate-pulp-free, in a small container w/ brew-head screen overnight, then scrub real well & wash again next am). hope this helps!

check the water temp and make sure the grind is not to fine. if both of these checkout ok then it may be a weak pump. you will have to find a replacement pump.

SOURCE: 2 cup basket for xp4030 is clogged--won't filter

This happened to me too... A couple things to try: Soak basket in a descaling solution & super hot water (like PuroCaff). If you're talking about the actual filter, a guitar string actually fits perfect through the hole to unclog.

When making an espresso, pressure builds up slowly to optimum pressure then falls and doesn't produce any coffee. ie no pressure

I had a similar problem with mine. It turned out to be a clogged filter basket. The filter basket is double walled and build up occurs between the two layers and typical cleaning methods do not seem to work. The advice I found said to heat the filter cup by holding it over a stove burner. It will smoke some and might slightly discolor. Don't heat it so long that the metal warps other wise it won't fit back in the holder. I heated it by placing it directly on my electric burner set to medium. I left it there until it stopped smoking. Removed it with pliers and set it somewhere safe to cool. It worked for me.

Of course, you could also just replace the filter basket too.

COFFEE MACHINE KEEPS FIL;LING UP AND OVERFLOWS. tHIS IS A BUNNOMATIC MODEL STPF-15

Dunkin Donuts decaf coffee clogs the filter as the water fills the basket causing the basket to overflow. The coffee is ground too fine. Swtich brands or use a second filter to cover the coffee grounds to keep them from floating and clogging the filter.

Basket with coffee and filter overflows. Why?

Grounds might be too fine or not leveled before brewing, sprayhead might be dirty and clogged.

The filter basket on my FrancisFrancis X5 sticks to the machine.

Place a glass under the filter basket. Do not return the portafilter. Pull another shot. The pressure will push the filter basket off.

Water remains in filter basket after brewing

Behind automat(machine side ) it gets clogged with grinds. Clean it with air hose. If that don't work, change the o-ring on automat.

We have a breville cappucino machine and where we put the coffee keeps clogging

my breville filter baskets only have one true hole in the center of each basket. there are stampings in the metal so it looks like there's more, but the others aren't really holes b/c they were never drilled out. maybe breville subcontracted the manufacture of the filter baskets out and then didn't qc them; either way, one hole means keeping it clear is much more important. i plan to drill mine out (if i can find a small enough drill bit!) otherwise, after brewing a shot run only water thru the basket each time, or clear the hole out with a pen or needle. good luck!

Espresso maker not workin properly

Your Brew Head screen and/or filter basket might be clogged with coffee oils. You can soak both pieces in a product that removes coffee oils from either www.urnex.com or Dezcal brand. Coffee shops will do this once a day. If you have the filter basket with the screw in the middle, you will need to remove the screw and soak everything as it can clog also.
If that does not work (it should tho) you can contact the Briel service center at:

Leaks From Filter Gasket

Sounds like you might have coffee oil build up. I would suggest soaking the Brew Head Screen and filter holder in a coffee oil remover by www.urnex.com or dezcal. Remove the screw if your filter basket has one. For home use it would be good to clean this every week or so. You can email me for more info: irene@smithagy.net. You also might just try purchasing a new filter basket (along with cleaning the Brew head screen and new basket).
