My Hoover UltraCare 1500 washing machine keeps repeating the spin cycle, even when I turn the programme control knob to stop

Sounds like the timer control switch is messed up. I had the same thing happen to my washer because my roommate was impatient and tried to spin the timer like the big wheel on the Price is Right. The plastic tabs broke and the timer died.

Changing a washing machine timer

If the timer is not moving or is tight then it needs a replacement. Presently the models use electronic timers and so it is important that the same model is available. Also replacement of the timer means a bunch of connections must be TAGGED so that there are no slip up or false connections which can cause serious damage. So take estimate before you think of replacement to that of a new model.

Changing a timer switch

This is an important job to tag the wires , buy the same type of the Timer and also estimate the full cost to that of a new model. There a several wires that have to be tagged and fitted with the same sequence and so care must be taken when this job is done.

I have a Hoover 550 MB Top Loader washing machine . The cycle won't move from wash to spin . it doesn;t progress out of wash cycle , it stays there forever .

Will the unit spin if you manually turn the timer dial to spin? If so, remove power, remove the clock motor from the timer, and inspect the clock and mating timer gearing for debris or damaged gear teeth. At the worst, replace the timer. You may be able to scrape or file the damaged teeth so that the timer will progress.

Washing cycle seems to "stick" and time delay button flashes

If this is a mechanical timer, it is probably in need of replacement.  Be sure that there is no impediment to movement of the knob.  You might get lucky by removing the knob and squirting in a small amount of WD-40 or similar solvent.

My Hoover 550 wil not stop filling with water

Possibly caused by a leaking water level sensor. Turn off the power, remove 3 screws at top back of control panel. Rotate the control panel forward and have a look at the white rubber hose on the left hand side. Check that it is connected at both ends and not perished. Also check that the adjuster cam (turn the level knob and look behind) is not broken.

Hoover 600M washing machine cycle issue

Sounds like you may have a timer problem. You might be able to pick one up at a appliance parts center. Most of the time, they can be pretty pricey item, if you can even get one for older models. Check EBAY as well, sometimes you can find hard to find parts for pretty cheap. Replacing the timer shouldnt be that hard. UNPLUG the unit, remove the console, which should be held on by screws, the remove and replace one wire at a time back to the timer. Use caution when removing the timer knob, you dont want to crack it. Most knobs remove by unscrewing to the left.
