SOURCE: hi, my proplem when i make

You may have sent too many print jobs into the printer queue at one time. You can check that in the lower right hand corner of your screen. If you see the little printer icon, it means there are jobs in the queue. If that's the case, just right click on it, a list of print jobs will be shown. Just highlight each one, and right click, then select cancel printing. That should clear out any extraneous print jobs. Now, if your printer is doing that when you are only printing one job, I would recommend removing and reinstalling the printer drivers. That should fix the problem. Good luck!

6A81 Printer error has occurred

This error indicates that something is blocking the carriage from moving (the carriage is the part of the printer that holds the ink cartridges)

This can be from a piece of paper being caught in the carriage path, or a mechanical issue like a broken gear

First, sharply unplug the printer while it is powered on, then double check these instructions for removing all paper jams (click below):

Especially look inside the printer where the carriage moves back and forth to make sure nothing is jammed in there and is blocking the path:

g0105921.png

Remove all paper from the paper feed and blow it out with compressed air a few times > With a flashlight look in the paper feed

Make sure there is no foreign object like a paper clip in there

While the printer is still off, press and hold the power button for 3 minutes > Load 1 sheet of paper into the paper tray

Finally, while holding down the stop/cancel button, plug the printer back in, and power on the printer if it doesn't do so automatically. Now see if the error is gone.

If not, please reply back and let me know, we'll take other steps to resolve the issue.

Error code 5100

Error code 5100 indicates that Carriage Return (CR) error occurs. This error rise when carriage unit (the part that function as cartridge housing) does not move properly. Here are some possibilities of the problem:
  1. Carriage unit is faulty so that it cannot 'read' film timing **** strip (film encoder) properly
  2. Film encoder is dirty. Film encoder functions as a guide for carriage unit to move to the correct position it should be. Carriage unit 'read' the encoder by flashing a light from a LED. Dirty encoder sometimes make the light direction is deviated.
  3. Foreign material blocking carriage unit path. Please check inside the printer and remove it if any.

If carriage unit is faulty, you need bring the printer to the service center to get part replacement. For dirty film encoder, sometimes you can still clean it by using moistened cloth. I hope this will HELP you. Thanks.

I am getting a service error 5100.

There is something blocking the carriage from seating home. 5100 generally means there is either something in the paper path or an obstruction in the ink carriage path. Open the clamshell to look at the carriage path and make sure the cable connecting the carriage is not restricted.

I'm having an issue with the same unit. But the blinking light is NOT on my phone it's the power light to the actual unit in my server room. It will flash 4 times and then stop. Flash 4 times again... I have looked through the manual to see what 4x power light means and I have found nothing!

LQ-2180 printer is Continues blinking front panel lights.

The LQ2180 blinking lights can be caused by paper jammed, printhead overheated, paper loaded not detected and cover unclosed. Try to check all this first, you may have a fragment of paper stick to the sensors, or broken sensor. If all of the light flashing try to check the carriage movement, move it side to side, but with power off condition. If the carriage movement not smooth or stuck, look for any foreign matters inside the carriage path that blocking the movement if not, try to lubricate the rail which hold the carriage. If this doesnt solve you, the machine require parts replacement.

Handset lights up, but does not work, only beeps when you touch any key

first, hold down the "handset locator" button on the base, until the "charge" light flashes. then, hold down the flash/call waiting button until the LCD says "handset registering." if after about a minute it says "error!!!" then try again. that is what the instuctional booklet says. i have not done this successfully yet as i have the same problem, but this is apparently how you fix it.
