The metal water dispenser feeding the ice try is warm to touch and is not allowing ice to be made do you have any suggestions
The water dispenser tube has a low wattage element to prevent the water from freezing in the tube. its normal. Check to see if the evaporator fan is running. Open the freezer door and when the fridge is running, press the switch on the side wall. The freezer light should go out and then you should hear the fan running at the back of the freezer compartment. Common symptoms of a failed fan is ice growing down the back of the freezer compartment , poor refrigeration in the food compartment and partial or poor freezing of food in the freezer. If the fridge is less than 2 years old, it will be under warranty. (Contact Castel Electronics in Melbourne 13

There are a lot of bits and pieces to remove to get to the fan on an ice and water model, also the rear panel inside the freezer should be removed to make sure ice hasn't blocked the air ducts. If you are not confident in doing it, get one of their agents to sort it out. Cost of fan motor, call and labour should be around $200 to $220

Scorpio, remove the ice bin itself, dump the ice and see if you can move the bin auger by hand by turning the actuator in the rear. If the bin is ok, with the door open and the door switch held in see if the auger motor is turning when pressing the ice lever. If it's not turning the next logical step is to see whether the auger motor is getting voltage when calling for ice. Make sure the door switch is closed. The part number for the auger motor on the posted model is wr60x0202. Hope this gets you going..Catriver.

Melissa, you don't get it from the inside. Remove the drip tray by pulling it out. You should see two screws holding the dispenser cover on each side of the bottom. Remove these screws and push up on the dispenser cover, there's 3 hooks on the top. Unplug the harness from the dispenser board and get the cover out of the way. Now is the hard part. You have to get at the module itself that holds the paddle. These can be a fight. If you go to Sears.com, go to appliance then parts and post your model number you should get a breakdown of the dispenser that will guide you. Catriver..post back
