Either 80w90 mineral. Or 75w90 synthetic. Will work is this a possi trac rear end ? If it is you will have to add anti slip additive

Holden Rodeo 4x4 petrol 2001 V6 what is the lubricant quantities for the diffs, gear box & transfer case. Also what weights of oil

manual transmission --- 80w-90 for the gearbox and transfer case
diff is 80-90 oep if a straight diff and different if a limited slip diff gear box is around the 2.5 ltrs as is the diff each
LiSiD oil can be used in LiSiD diffs and straight diffs but straight oil cannot be used in lisid diffs
the transfer case uses the same as the box but the quantity you will have to check in the lubrication section of the user manual
many user manuals recommend a lighter straight oil for transfer cases and boxes ( 30 straight oil) but I find that the light oil promotes bearing wear and gear problems as the oil squeezes out under load

How do i fit a rear wing to a 1971 xy gt falcon

place masking tape on the area of the bootlid where the pillars/risers of the(i assume you mean)spoiler are going to be screwed, ensuring you have access to the underside where the bolts are to be fitted. You may have to juggle the fitment to get the optimum balance of accessibility(for the bolts)& cosmetics(how it looks)-leave the trailing edge overhanging the boot just until you think it looks good and the access thru the inner bootlid frame is sound(you can drill access holes thru the frame if you need to & seal/bung those holes when ur done.
right now place the spoiler & draw around the base risers onto masking tape-remove spoiler, measure carefully the bolt holes & transfer measurements onto the bootlid-lightly centre pop those marks(only after you've triple-checked your marks) & drill the holes-i start with a 2mm & work up to the final bore-allow a bit bigger than the bolts,so 8mm bolts drill at 8.5 or even 9mm;you can drill thru the frame too if u need to but just make sure you don't foul the boot aperture rubber or the guard channel gutter. Now if your measurings good you should be able to fit ur spoiler using a good sealer between bootlid/spoiler & a waterproof washer on the bolthead side-hope this is helpful,i've fitted many in my time-just take ur time & think as u go-you'll be sweet

I have 1971 xy falcon and compliance plate lists trim as "T". Cannot find what colour this represents

Probably a Tan colour in the range of all Tan colours. Even if the car had been carefully resprayed, the true colour lies behind the compliance plate because the plate is added after the factory spray paints the car, then it is never removed. If you can remove the plate you will probably see the originally factory paint of a Tan colour. Do not forget to replace the plate with rivets. Cheers bro.

How do I simplify expression xy^2/xy.

xy^2/xy....... I am taking this as not being (xy)^2/xy.

So divide the top and bottom line both by xy. You get y/1 = y

I would like to know what type and weight of oils to use in my 04 Excursion. Its a 4WD Eddie Bauer. I am attempting to get all specs so that I may just get under it one weekend and change all the fluids...

Ok, you use 15W 40 for engine oil rated for diesels for most conditions If it's going to be below -20, you should use 5W 40 full synthetic for diesel. It takes 5 quarts, so buy 6. For your transmission model 4R100 and transfer case, it takes 6.4 quarts Dexron III or equivalent transmission oil. Your transfer case takes the same oil. It takes 17 quarts for a total refill, which means draining the torque converter as well. I don't have the specs handy here for the diffs, but your automotive supplier should be able to tell you. It always pays to buy a little extra, too. The other thing that is REALLY important to change, especially with a diesel, is your engine coolant. The best place to buy your coolant is right from Ford and get their additive. They will tell you exactly how much you need. It is critical to the life of your diesel engine to get the coolant that's designed for it, and don't let anyone tell you anything different. I have replace many liners that were pinholed from cavitation from using the wrong coolant. Front and rear diffs: XY-90-GL in the front (SAE 90) in the front, 3.8 pints, XY-75W140-QL (synthetic)in the rear 6.5-6.9 pints, plus 2 XL-3 4oz modifiers in the rear in you have a limited slip. You can also check your powersteering fluid to make sure it looks clean and doesn't smell burnt. Have a fun weekend!

Hi my brake pedel in my 1971 xy ute is very hard and does not like stopping what could be the problem .

I am not very familiar with this vehicle but the place I would suggest you start looking is the vacuum line to the brake booster. Make sure it is connected and is not cracked or split anywhere.

You could also run the engine and use a hose like a stethoscope, just put one end up to your ear, and the other all around the booster to see if you can hear any vacuum leaks.

If this doesn't help get back to me and I will try to help you some more.

I own a Laverda 750sf 1971 and need to know if it is positive or neg earth as it had no batt on when I bought it

All late 60's and 70's Laverda 750 twins are negative earth.
Buy the 'Green Book' ISBN-13:
978-0-9796891-0-9 - do not pay more than the cover price inc post.
For parts try Slaters or Motal in the UK. I buy from Laverda Paradies in Germany, does what it says on the tin - every time.

For info try http://www.laverdamania.net/menugb.htm and

Adjust valves on 1971 chevy 350

either the intake is sucking oil from the bottom of the manifold, very common, other is the rings are gone, also very common, lighterr oil usage is a valve stem seal issue. the valves are hydraulic and unless u are installing new rocker arms require no adjustment.
