Question about HP LaserJet CP1215 Color Printer
WHEN I PRINT, THE PRINTER RESPONDED. HOWEVER IT KEEP ON TRYING TO PRINT BUT NO PAPER COMING OUT. AND A MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY COMPUTER SCREEN "ENGINE COMMUNICATION ERROR".
Press the Power switch to turn off the product, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power. Wait for the product to initialize before proceeding.
If you are using a surge protector, remove it. Plug the product directly into the wall outlet. Press the Power switch to turn on the product.
If the error persists, contact HP to determine if the product needs to be serviced.

Testimonial: "i had turn off the printer. even plug in direct into wall socket, the problem still persists. and i did bring my printer to HP service centre, then the technician had advised me to buy a new one. coz the parts replacement will only have a warranty for 3 months.."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: hp 2355 all in one error message
mine HP was acting the same way after a jam. I contacted hp and they told me it was a hardware issue and that I would need to purchase a new printer. I found a KB on thier site for this issue. It involved removing both ink carts and then reseting the printer with the ink carts out. it seemed to work.

The solution is here, in step 8:
"NOTE: If none of the options resembles the paper being used, select Plain paper. Do not leave the type is box set as automatic."
Who'd have guessed?

SOURCE: paper mismatch
I have an hp photosmart c4480 and was having the same problem printing wedding invitations. Same size 5.5"x8.5'. Im not sure if this will work on your printer, but this is what I had to do.
Click on Print, then Properties, then features.
About half way down there is a drop down box under sizing options.
Click on custom
Create a name, and put your width and height in.
Click Save and then OK
Completely X out of the print options.
File, print, properties, features, click the drop down box under sizing options.
Click more and scroll to the bottom and it should be there.
If your options are different then mine, I'm sorry for wasting your time.

SOURCE: The error message reads:
Turn the printer off.
Turn your computer off.
Check the "data" cable at both ends (printer & computer).
Turn the computer on, and let it fully load Windows.
Turn the printer on.
Try to access the printer.
