Hello Bill! Repair should be fairly easy even without the original part. You can solder a new connector, or you could attach the wires directly by soldering or using clip-on connectors. The cable running back into the base has 7 cores. 5 for the 5 pin connector and two for the other speaker. If the original part is somehow still intact, you could just cut out the damaged cable and solder them back on according to the color codes. If the part is gone, you could either cut the 5pin and the cinch connector on the two cables and solder them together or better still, you could get a cinch female adapter and a 5 pin female adapter. Solder them onto the cable that goes into the base where it is still intact. If thats not possible you could replace the cable that goes into the base altogether. The base is held together by 4 screws. You access them by removing the rubber on the four feet, then pull the feet out vertically. Theyre just stuck into the base, no glue, like pins on a guitar. With the feet taken out you can unscrew the screws and open the base. From then it should be smooth sailing. Get a cable that has at least 7 cores and attach it to the mainboard via the 7 pin connector. On the other side of the cable solder a female cinch and a female 5pin connector onto it. theres a video on youtube which shows how to access the mainboard, just search for "Soundsticks II Speakers by Harman Kardon - Disable the Blue LED!"

If the mentioned cable is the one that is connected to the motherboard of the sub woofer and has two connectors for the speakers on the other side - please contact the Harman/Kardon support of your country, as they may be able to replace this part (actually this is a very rare part) it also may occur that the company will not be able to replace the part with a genuine one, but with a modified one. You can also try to contact some companies that would be able to replace this cable with a custom-made one.

There should be an international standard number with the plug.
example IEC 60906-3:1994
Search on your plugs number and it will tell you all about the plug that you have.
Usually
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaxial_power_connector
The outside on the plug is negative and the inside of the plug is positive on most DC plugs .
With a continuity device like a multimeter you could work out which pin connects to the outside of the plug sleeve that inserts into the device. Being negative .

If you go to the Harmon/Kardon website, you can find where to buy replacement parts.

http://www.harmankardon.com/

Select product support on the front page, then go to parts.

Then select your product as Harmaron/Kardon SoundsticksII and select your country.

Hope this helps,

Nathan.

Need a replacement power cord for harmon kardon sound sticks II

its not that expensive for a power cord. they are running on 12v so you go and buy a 12v power supply with a jack that fits the speakers or you can just find a power supply at home if you have one that is 12v

Most cat problems can be taken care of with a swift kick or a big dog. Suggest you implement this fix before attempting to fix the other problem or you may get a repeat.
