Alert "No Music Files"

I keep receiving the Alert "No Music Files" in spite of the fact that there are music files in the player. I also see two directories called FMIN.DIR and MICIN.DIR. Is there some kind of virus in the player? If so, how can I get rid of it?

    Hi regnier,

I tried converting the songs to mp3 using itunes. It did not help--same problem. It says "No Music Files". I read somewhere that pressing the Reset button might solve the problem. Do you know where the Reset button is?

Hi regnier, actually, the same songs were playing earlier. They stopped
playing when I downloaded and added some nursery rhymes in mp3 format
from the Web. Nevertheless, I will try the itunes trick this evening
and let you know the results tomorrow. Thanks for looking into this.

HOW DO I UPLOAD MUSIC TO MY MP3 PLAYER

Hello Elizabeth,

To transfer music to your player, connect your Coby MP600 to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

Once connected, your computer will automatically recognize the player as a Removable Disk.

??To open the player to view files, double-click the icon that appears.

Once you have opened the player's folder, simply drag and drop files to the player as you would a floppy disk.

??Copy music files to the root directory.

??Copy movie files to the "MOVIE.DIR" folder

??Copy photo files to the "PHOTO.DIR" folder

??Copy text files to the "TEXT.DIR" folder.

After copying the files, disconnect it properly and you are done.

I hope this helped you.

You can rate my answer if you appreciate my help.

Thanks!

I have a Coby MP620. It says to drag and drop files to the music.dir folder but I have no such folder. I have the movie, photo and text files but no music. I have no idea what to do next.

When your MP3 Player is connected to a computer, you may transfer music files to your MP3 player using your operating system's basic file management commands (i.e., copy-and-paste or drag-and-drop).Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer through its USB adapter. Select "Open folder to view files" from the new device dialog box that pops up. If the new device dialog does not appear upon the hardware's connection, click "Start," click "My Computer" and right-click the Coby MP3 player's device icon in Windows Explorer .Click "Start," click "My Music" and open the folder containing the music you wish to transfer onto the Coby MP3 player. Drag and drop the music files or folders into the Coby MP3 player's open directory. Alternatively, you can highlight the music files or folders and click the "Copy the selected" link from the Files and Folders Tasks menu in the left column. Select the "Removable Disk" drive from the list of destinations.

Cant download music

try NOT going through media player as it tries to convert any audio. keep your files as mp3. preferably stored in "My music" file on your computer. then when you connect your psp via USB go to "open folder to view files" then open psp/music file. leave it open and open a "My computer" window my documents/my music, then just click and drag to psp/music file.

I cant put movies on my nextar ma791 . can you help

This isn't a great solution. I used MTVVideoConverter to create an .mtv file. Like you, I couldn't get Windows Media Player to sync the file. However, I put the Nextar into MSC USB mode. Then I found the device corresponding to the Nextar -- which had directories name FMIN.DIR, MICIN.DIR, and MTPMEDIA. I connected to MTPMEDIA and there created a subdirectory called Video (I don't know if the name is important) and copied the .MTV file there. I was careful to "safely remove" the device and I was able to view my video.

There's gotta be a better way.

MSD mode will show once set of folder. MTP mode will show another. Use Windows Media Player or other such software to transfer files.
