Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 for PC
You did not say whether you were able to get safe mode to boot, so I will include this for you.
To get into the Windows Vista Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.
Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.
In safe mode you should be able to see an administrator logon, if you have not assigned a password to this account just click on the icon and windows will start.
Once you have done this:
1. Open up the control panel window.
2. Open up "User Accounts"
3. Select change account
4. Select the password option and delete it.
Then reboot the machine, you should be able to bring up your profile with no password attached to it.
That should get you going.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

You can try loggin on to safe mode suing F8 might be an option if you have not set the adminstrator password.
if you are able to log on in safemode you can go to user account under control panel and reset the pasword.
If you have password there too . you may need to have a windows xp cd to go to reocvery console

If you lost windows password, you can go into safe mode (F8 when booting up) to recover windows password while you forgot user account password, but if you forgot administrator password, there is no way to change administrator password while you forgot it,you must use software to recover administrator password.my favorite is windows password seeker.

If you lost windows login password, you can get into safe mode (F8 when booting up) to recover windows password when you didn't remember user account password, but if you forgot admin password, there is no way to change it, you have to use software program to recover administrator password. Last week, I forgot my Windows administrator password. Last, I successfully reset my Windows password with Windows Password Reset 9.0.

Try rebooting in safe mode as administrator(hold down F8).
Else put a second disk in another PC and run some password reset utility likeWindows Password Recovery
