Question about Yahoo Mail

1 Answer

My yahoo will no longer let me stay signed in for any decent length of time. I check the keep me signed in box but usually have to continue signing in every 10-30 minutes. This just started about a week ago.

I changed my password but still get security question and have to receive a code. How can I stop this ?

Usually, when you are using a different computer (and not the one that you usually use to access Yahoo Mail), or from a different location (e.g. you are in a different city, state or country than your home location), Yahoo knows that. And, it asks you for additional (security) information, to make sure it is YOU ... and not someone else who has stolen your account id and password.
So, the additional security questions that you'd provided is meant to protect you.
One way to avoid/skip this (being asked security question, etc.) is to use your (regular) computer all the time to access your Yahoo mail account ... e.g. an not different computers. Another way is to check off the box "Keep me signed in" when you log into your account.... and (depending on the period you'd selected in your Accounts profile), you will stay signed in ... for as long as you want (presumably on your own/regular computer) until you sign off.

I cn`t log on to yahoo.com

  • What does "Keep me signed in" mean? If you check the "Keep me signed in" box, you can stay signed in to Yahoo! on this computer for up to 2 weeks or until you sign out. To protect your personal information when you access some Yahoo! services, we may ask you to enter your password again. The "Keep me signed in" checkbox applies to this computer only. If you're using a public computer, we recommend that you uncheck the checkbox. You can also modify the number of times you're asked for your password by clicking on My Account at the top of most Yahoo! pages once you sign in. If you do so, Yahoo! will ask you to verify your password more frequently, although your sign-in screen will still indicate every "two weeks". (More information on modifying your sign-in settings)
  • What is this image at the top of my sign-in box? It's a sign-in seal - a feature to help you protect your Yahoo! password against fraud. (Find out more about sign-in seals.)
  • Not seeing your sign-in seal? If you set up your sign-in seal but now no longer see it, you could be on a fraudulent site. Look carefully at your browser's address bar. A genuine Yahoo! sign-in page will always display https://login.yahoo.com just before the next forward slash. (Read more about identifying a real Yahoo! sign-in page.)
  • Concerned about password security? Yahoo! submits your ID and password using SSL, which provides a level of security when transmitting data. (More information on password security.)
  • What if I forgot my ID or password? Look up your ID and/or password after confirming some personal information. Remember to use your full Yahoo! ID (e.g. free2rhyme@yahoo.com) to sign in.
  • Having problems logging in? Did you forget to include your full Yahoo! ID? If so, please remember to use your full Yahoo! ID to sign in.

I can not stay signed . I have to sign in all the time

As you sign in, click the box - keep me signed in. This is on the yahoo sign in dialogue box.

Or

When you enter your sign in information at the yahoo sign in page, it will bring three options in a bar at the top requesting to keep me signed in, never to do so or to do it later. Please click on the first one

On the sign-in page, directly under the Password field, there is a check box titled "keep me signed in" - select this option and log in. This will allow you to remain logged in until the cache is cleared from your Internet history.

Make sure that Cookies are allowed in your browser settings. Plus, add a tick to "keep me signed in" check box.

Bought a second hand computer.cannot remove the previous owners yahoo.id on signing in.How can i make my yahoo id the default.

Make sure that when you sign in you check the "Keep me signed in" Box located right below where you enter your password. Then go to "Account Info" and go to "Change Sign In Settings". Make sure that you have "2 weeks" selected, as this will keep you signed in for 2 weeks at a time without being automatically signed out.

I dont wana stay sign in when i type my id my passward automatically type how can remove it

When you go into yahoo, sign out and then go back in. There should be a little box right below the username and password boxes that says "keep me signed in". Make sure that box is unchecked, then that should solve your problem.

Signing in ....sign in to yahoo mail.....i check the "sign in for 2 weeks box"...but it dosent work now.........have to sign in all the time.... whats gone wrong... ..very frustrating !!!!!!!! peter

Even if you configured the program to keep you signed in, whenever your internet connection fails, you'll need to sign in again or every time you turn on your computer. If you keep you computer on for 2 weeks without any connection failure, then definitely, it'll work for you, but I am afraid that any internet connection will continuously keep connected without any interruption. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.
