Question about LG " 47"" Class / LED / 1080p / 120Hz / 3D / HDTV 47LM5800"
When watching tv my remote will just stop working. And I've got to power off and back on from the mains. I've confirmed the batteries are good in remote and after powering back on it'll work for a little while before locking out remote control again but the tv will keep working on the channel am on.
Ensure you have the most current updates for your unit by going to the LG support web site. You will need your model # and do a search for updates. If that does not fix your problem then your Main PCB ( the one with all the inputs is bad). Ebay may have what you need just ensure the the numbers of your board match exactly to the board you purchase.

Make sure the remote is set to operate your tv and not a cable box or accesory. It's in the menu

There are some inductors that are out of spec. LG's original SB said to replace some of these with a jumper, but it only lasted a couple months.
You need to have the Total Main Assy replaced.

The problem your describing can be contributed to your cable box. Depending on your cable company there are times when the box has trouble translating the signal to the tv. You tv is operating normally. Suggest to the cable company to switch your box.

I don't believe there is manual buttons I can use there is some icons on the tv but never had them work. I've tried putting the satellite through the tv antenna and it's still doing it. also does it on component or hdmi with either satellite or blu-ray player as well.
Confirmed that when the remote stops working the manual buttons on tv stop as well. also the menu up and down didn't work.
