I can not set up the parent control

It wont let me finish the parent control so I can unlock the apps

    I have been trying to bypass the lack of access to the first parental control screen for more than 4 hours. I was on hold with tech support until my phone died and I cannot stay connected to tech chat. At this point, I am dreaming of a return to the store tomorrow morning! This is a waste of my time. I was supposed to be able to turn it on and follow the stimple steps....NOT!!

    It seems to be working now. I got a new screen when I clicked on the ap again and I called the number given for registration. I'm good to go now.

    Check your email you used to create the acct if you got an email saying congrats you have successfully registered retry to sign in at that point you will have to pay a dollar with a credit card and at that point it will take you set up there u can block whatever you want that point. It's a process but it worked after hours of nothing. Last u have to download every app after so more waiting. Good thing I have verizon fios so it's not that bad. Hope this helps

Found this from my own research this appears to work (Either way epic failure by Toys R Us who had better issue an apology and provide some sort of compensation for this let down!!).......

I was just able to register and setup parental control from desktop browser after more than 2 hours trying different approaches. I then used that account info to login into tablet and activate controls. Here is what I did step by step.

1. When you try to activate your tablet it open page at this URL: (you might have to restart process couple times - site seems to loose info enetered in previous step)

You will have to replace guid value 0099FXFX7X00-0 with the actual value of your tabled ID - you should be able to see it in browser address bar.

2. Complete 4 step account setup wizard - in last step when it asks for "Child's firstname" enter unique Id there something like JoeDoe2009 - there seems to be some issues with unique names for app because when I enter my sons name it said it was already taken.

3. After Child's name was registered you will be redirected to payment page - you will have to enter Credit card payment info for $1 transaction (text says that you will be reimbursed for that later).

4. You should see page saying tablet was registered and You should receive email with your Id and password in clear text to email you used for registration.

5. Go back to tabled and tap on MobileParentalFilter icon (one that looks like flower) -- you will see registration wizard again -- on the bottom there is a link saying "ALREADY GOT ACCOUNT" - enter your email ID and password there - you will be taken to parental filter activation on tablet and all should be set.

That's it. Again be ready to restart this process from any point all over again because site is very slow and seems to loose your session.

    Also want to note I was successfully able to accomplish above steps however i did for sure have to try multiple times and the biggest tip was go as fast as you possibly can it seemed like if you took your time if would lose info and not work but if I went really fast it worked. I bought too of these and going really fast seemed to do the trick as well..Really weird! but at the end of the day I now have to fully functional tablets!!

    look at the URL in my original solution. you will find the GUID in the middle of the URL what you need to do is when you first launch the parental control app the first page should have the guid that is unique to your tablet replace it in the url above and proceed.

    it failed to begin with for me I had to try numerous times before it finally worked and then when I finally got to the last step and failed I started over and went real quick through it and it worked. It is extremely frustrating and toys r us definately blew it today

    that is the issue everyone seems to be having today. Follow the steps above from a pc and hopefully it will work. Not sure when toys r us will get the issue fixed. I would hope they will realize a hole bunch of parents are not happy and have a fix quickly until then what I did is the only way I got it to work

    Finally worked!!! Now trying to set the controls. Keeps timing out but there is now light at the end of the tunnel.

    The tablet ID is not the build number, when you first access the parental controls the id you need is in the url on the tablet like the example above just replace the numbers in my example with the numbers in the url from your tablet.

    Yes there parental controls thing is very buggy it appears hopefully becuase of the extra load. I definately feel like toys r us owes us something for this unnecessary frustration today. While I got it to work I am definately considering a return if they don't get these issues worked out fairly quickly

    Thanks so much for posting your steps. Having the same issue, and I imagine they did not prepare for the Christmas traffic they are experiencing. However, when I get to the step in the wizard where it asks for the Child's First Name and I go to the next step, it gives this error "Registration must be launched from the connected tablet by the app itself!" What am I doing wrong?

    i cant get to parental control from desktop browser, can someone post the web address? I tried with the address on the tablet but the mobile address wont open in web. On hour 4 for this dang thing and my lil girl is feeling sad on Christmas.

    It was their server not the tablet...they need to fix this prob for people. I'm tempted to just return it for any other tablet!

    just got both of my girls Tabeos set-up, FINALLY! to restore your pre-loaded apps you have to call Tech Support at 877-221-0207. This issue was not Toys-R-Us or Tabeos fault, there was an overload of the servers due to the enormous amount of people all registering at once. They were very courteous and got everything set-up and working for me in no time! Hope you all have the same luck! =)

    My Dad returned Tabeos and bought me the Kindle. My dad said that the Kindle has child control settings on the unit. He wasn't going to fool around with the Tabeo anymore and buy me something he knows works.

    call tech support at 877-221-0207 they will be able to reload them for you...it may take a while to get thru but they will help you

I am having the exact same problem. Get error message saying you must connect from the connected device from the app. But we are!!!!

Even did a factory reset. Still the same.

    Yep, I made the mistake of doing a factory reset too. No more pre-loaded apps. Cannot get through customer service but I am guessing it may be closed for Christmas day.

    We did the same thing...reset it and lost all apps! I was told the server crashed yesterday bc so many people had it...but today they still do not reply. TERRIBLE PRODUCT!!!!!!!

Have you set up Free Time app that she can use? I recommend you check this link that give some general help topics. First I'd say take a look at set up Parental Controls, Then how to set up Free Time App. You can block her downloading You Tube and keep her out of other areas she shouldn't be in. You may need to set up a new password so she can't get access to the main menu. Then you unlock it when you hand it over.

How do I turn off parental controls


Depends on what you are trying to do. To use the Nabi2 as an adult tablet, put it into mommy or daddy mode, then use the settings to have it run in parent mode as the default.

Other apps have parental controls, but I think you may be looking to have it turn on into parent mode.

How do I get off safe mode


The safe browser has a page with links to safe sites such as Disney, Nick and Barbie. Parents also have the ability to add additional safe site shortcuts to the page. The last page is the parental controls, safe mode and power. Through parental controls, parents can also manage the system settings, all apps and storage.

Parental Control / Reinstall pre-loaded apps


Very upsetting, I agree! I factory reset yesterday and lost all my preloaded apps, the only way to get them back is to call tech support and have them do it. Unfortunately the number has been busy all day and tabeo website has been down on and off all day today. I will try again tomorrow. Good luck!

Tabeo tablet lost downloaded apps


This is the worst and most frustrating purchase ever!!! Finally registered it and downloaded apps from scratch since i lost my preloaded apps from factory reset and everytime we want to play a game, parental control pops up every time, even in the middle of the game!! Ridiculous!

Meep problems


If you are receiving a message on your Meep of 'Times Up!', please try the following steps:
1. Register your Meep. Many of the capabilities of the Meep require the parent account to exist which puts the Meep into our system.

2. Adjust your parental settings to allow for times of use. You must set a time limit for every type of allowed activity and then save those settings. If you did set up permissions and you have the Times Up message, check that your settings are the way you set them and haven't been changed. 3. Update your Meep to our latest firmware version using our Meep Ota App available in the Meep Store and through Google Play. Earlier operating versions are linked to the Times Up issue.

If you still have a Times Up message:
1. It could be an issue within your browser in that it's retaining old settings and not updating them. Try clearing the browser cache and/or disabling extensions within your browser. Another option is our Meep Together smartphone app which can also be used to adjust parental settings instead of the portal website.
2. It could be your Meep is not connecting at this time to our servers thus not being able to receive the updated settings. Check that you show a green dot which means you are connecting to us or send a Private Message with your serial # and we can check the connection from our side.
3. Another option that bypasses servers is that you can update the settings right from the Meep's own parental control interface, assuming you are on version 2.1. Additionally, within the parental app on the Meep, you can reset the timer for the Meep with the reset button, the small circular icon in the upper right hand corner of the time management screen. Once reset, you can adjust the settings as you wish.
