All Blue Ray players need to be updated from time to time to keep up with the growing technology of Blue Ray. PS3 is the same way. It is asking you to update your PS3 in order to play the disc. On the back of the PS3 is a Ethernet port (looks like an over sized phone jack) connect this to your internet (modem) and it will update your encryption key and software needed to play Blue Ray discs. Here is a link for that as well. http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/2_60/video/aacs.html
hold the power button down when it is red till you hear the quick beeps then select the file restore. this is a diagnostics screen...you may have to hold the power button in for several seconds....does your ps3 work on a non hidef tv?
Hi there, Most PS3 systems end up doing this due to an over heating of the laser lens. Let me explain: The laser lens in the PS3 is made to read mainly Blue Ray games. The movies need to be read faster than the game discs which causes it to work harder thus the problem arising. Sometimes, your lucky enough for this to only be a dirty lens problem due to rental movies which are most of the time, if not always, dirty. Have you tried a lens cleaner kit?
This is the CD-ROM with a small brush on it to clean your laser lens head.
This problem has happened to me in the past and this solved the problem.
It is a common problem for any lens reading console.
Regards,
you can try resetting the ps3. you need to hold the power button down for about 10 seconds this will reset all the settings. You will not lose your saves or game data. You may have to set your audio video setting via the XMB on the PS3 when you turn it back on.
I reciently had a simular issue. If you higlight the "Game" headding from the main page and in the little preview box you can see the Game you just need to reset the HDMI setting's. as HDMI carries sound and picture it looks like the game is not reading/ loading. If you can not see the game it may be your Blue ray lense. I hope this Helps.
PS3 is The amazing device by sony but it has some common problems like sound
problem, video problem, disk problem etc.... Good news is that these all problems can be
repaired with the help of DIY Guides, one such guide available at PS3 Repair Blog.
Green bar or border is due to wrong AV Setting. To resolve this just insert the Blue-Ray DVD and begin to play. Press the Triangle button and select "AV Setting", in AV Setting change Video Output to RGB.
