You don't really need the Vivitar software. The best way to download videos from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy videos from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any video cataloging program, such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. If you need a manual for the camcorder, you many download one here.

The same applies to videos, except that you'd want to use iMovie instead of iPhoto.

Won't connect to iMovie 09

This happens at times - more often that not with still cameras that take movies. What I do is ignore iMovie initially. Look for the camera on the desktop (or use a card reader - it's generally faster) and drag the video files off the card and on to the desktop. Then I bring them into iMovie.

Can't upload videos to Imovie

Kodak series cameras capture videos in MOV files. iMovie will only import codecs that it can edit. iMovie can import MP4, DV, Apple Intermediate Codec, H.264, Photo JPEG, Motion JPEG, Apple Animation, and perhaps others. MOV is a multimedia container file, not a codec. It can contain any of the above codecs, but it could contain other codecs that are not editable by iMovie, such as MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 so that sometimes iMovie cannot recognize Kodak videos directly.
please try this video converter, good luck. kodak video to imovie

Sony lil handycam....i am plugging it into an apple computer but it wont pop up so i can click on it so what do i do

Do you have iMovie? it should open when you plug the camera in and switch it on, it can take longer than you expect to launch iMovie, if not launch iMovie and your camera should be there and iMovie should be able to control it.
