Tabeo registration Going through parental controls and keep getting an error message saying I need to launch from the connected tablet by the app it's self. What does that mean? I click the app that's how I got to the set up. So frustrated, and on Christmas this is bulllll

    Same problem here! Do not factory reset it! I thought I had made a mistake and tried but it erased all the apps and wouldnt reinstall them. Busy tone since 8 am at the customer support line, been waiting on the support from online for 4 hours as well. Got through to Verifications but they can't help. They just said there's an overload of customers calling, etc

    I just received an email response from their tech support - seems the server is overloaded, and they think this is the cause of the issue. He said to try back later. :/

    I bought each of my daughters one for Christmas "from Santa" and am having the exact same issue. Tried calling about 15 times today and the phone was busy, now it just says your call did not go through, please try your call again. I agree such a major let donw.....especially when coming from the man in the red suit. Nice job Tabeo. I knew I should've spent the extra and got them Ipad Mini's.

    It seems to be working now. I got a new screen when I clicked on the ap again and I called the number given for registration. I'm good to go now.

    i am on the phone now. keep calling and you get through. it was a 20 minute hold. but he had me click on the error message in the upper left corner of the home screen and somehow i got to the part of entering a 4 digit code and he gave me it and it worked. i also had to go after i was signed in into the set up part and uncheck blocking aps so that i could use them,. i asked him what i tell people online with the same problem and he said that so many people are trying to do this right now because its christmas and everyone has gotten these that thats why that error message pops up and it should slow down later,. however i do reccomend to keep calling them because they do finally answer.

    All you have to do is enter the URL from the tabeo into your own browser. It may fail a few times because the website is slow; I had to do it twice and when I thought it was failing it suddenly gave me the option to pay $1 or call to get the verification code. When you are asked your childs name if you put in Joe or anything that simple it will say it's taken so you have to put in joe22 or whatever. The URL ishttp://mpf.profiltechnology.fr/wzdinit.a... Just replace my 12 zeros with the 12 numeric code from your childs tablet. When I called for the verification code it took all of 2min. Then you can go back to the Tabeo and just select "already have an account." Hope that helps ...Good Luck & Merry Christmas.

    if anyone lost the free apps while rebooting....you can download the zip file on you laptop as well and connect the tabeo to your laptop to transfer the file. In the tabeo settings you have to select for the startup wizard to come on after your next restart. The zip file is on tabeo.supporttechs.com site

    Lorraine & Jessica, the only way to get the preloaded apps back is to call tech support and have them do it for you. Number busy all day today, will try again tomorrow. Frustrating. In the meantime, if you can get on tabeo's website (which has been down on and off today) it will give you a list under FAQ of all the preloaded apps...you can go to your home screen and click on the icon with the shopping bag and start loading apps that you can, one by one, until you can get ahold of tech support.     1.) Download the file called RecoverApps.zip to your computer from the following website:http://tabeo.support-tablet.com/e2-suppo... 2.) Extract the .zip that you downloaded to your computer. You will need to use an extraction program such as Winzip http://www.winzip.com/win/en/landing/pro... Winrar http://www.winrar.com/), or 7zip http://www.7-zip.org/) to do this. 3.) Once extracted you should now have a folder called RecoverApps that if opened has a bunch of APK files in it. If you open it and find another RecoverApps folder in it open the second one, that will have the APK Files. 4.) Connect your unit to your computer and open the drive on your computer so you can see all the folders in it. Copy the RecoverApps folder that actually contains the APK Files into the folder on the unit called System. 5.) Once the copy is finished disconnect the unit from the computer and on the unit go to Settings -> About Tablet -> Start Wizard. Confirm you wish to run the Start Wizard. Then turn the unit off and then back on and you will be taken through the Start Wizard. Once completed the Default Applications will be re-installed to the unit.

Same problem here. tried calling and getting a busy tone. going to see if i can figure it out but have tried uploading it from the aps and restarting and everything. if any of you figure it out please comment!

This is very disappointing for a lot of people/kids this year. Got this for my 10 yr old niece and she is devastated...I have a degree in computers and I can't figure it out...It is maddening! I bet Toys R Us is going to get a bunch of returns on this product in the next couple of days!

    I just figured it out and it is so simple it's ridiculous ! Just enter the URL from the Tabeo into your browser on your desktop/laptop. You may have to enter the same information more than once; I had to do it twice and when I thought it was going to fail it gave me the option of paying $1 or calling the representative for the verification code. The url address is:http://mpf.profiltechnology.fr/wzdinit.a... replace the zeros I entered with the numbers from your childs tabeo. I called the representative and there wasn't a wait; it was quick.     Good Luck with that one...I just tried this 12 times in a row exactly as above but did not work. Giving the exact same message as on the tablet. The phone is still busy, called it 10 times in the last hour. Frustrated beyond words and 2 disappointed kids!

    I can get all the way to step 4 but after I put in my daughters name and date of birth it kicks me back to Step 1 and that annoying red box with the "Error you must activate on the tablet using the app" message. I thought I had it one time as in step 4 a smaller red box appeared after entering my daughters name that read "This account has already been registered" However I was never taken to a registration page, didn't get any 4 digit code nor did I ever receive any emails for registration or activation. So I thought I'd just go back to step 1 and click the "Already have an account" link...I did and guess what got another message that said I never registered the device. I don't know how Tabeo is in business, but after today's EPIC FAIL they are gonna suffer and they should. The camera's both **** on these, the video is terrible and obviously from the software to the customer service this is a consumer nightmare. Now I just need to figure out how to explain to an 8 and 6 yr old how returns work with Santa!

    I found the this process Quote I was just able to register and setup parental control from desktop browser after more than 2 hours trying different approaches. I then used that account info to login into tablet and activate controls. Here is what I did step by step. 1. When you try to activate your tablet it open page at this URL: (you might have to restart process couple times - site seems to loose info enetered in previous step) http://mpf.profiltechnology.fr/wzdinit.a... You will have to replace guid value 0099FXFX7X00-0 with the actual value of your tabled ID - you should be able to see it in browser address bar. 2. Complete 4 step account setup wizard - in last step when it asks for "Child's firstname" enter unique Id there something like JoeDoe2009 - there seems to be some issues with unique names for app because when I enter my sons name it said it was already taken. 3. After Child's name was registered you will be redirected to payment page - you will have to enter Credit card payment info for $1 transaction (text says that you will be reimbursed for that later). 4. You should see page saying tablet was registered and You should receive email with your Id and password in clear text to email you used for registration. 5. Go back to tabled and tap on MobileParentalFilter icon (one that looks like flower) -- you will see registration wizard again -- on the bottom there is a link saying "ALREADY GOT ACCOUNT" - enter your email ID and password there - you will be taken to parental filter activation on tablet and all should be set. That's it. Again be ready to restart this process from any point all over again because site is very slow and seems to loose your session.

    THIS WORKED!!!!! Although instead of using the credit card I just called the 855 number that was the second option. I waited less than two minutes and was then patched through to a real person. She gave me my code and presto I was done.

    Boy oh Boy, this was the most frustrating task to have to deal with on xmas but finally after hours of frustration, numerous times to set up parental controls and factory reset losing ALL PRELOADED APPS - today we finally called 855-326-2547 and in less than 5 minutes a very nice lady over the phone asked for 16 digit code on the tabeo, she gives you back 4 digit code to unlock the tabeo and register it and wallah....we\'re up and running (minus preloaded apps from factory reset desperation). In less than 5 minutes calling that number was a sigh of relief. The lady over the phone said you CAN NOT DO ANYTHING on this tablet until you get it registered. So now as we are downloading apps from the app store on the tabeo... get an email alert each time saying "your child has just downloaded xxx app on the tablet". So far....okay.

I called 1-855-326-2547 and spoke with a lady last night. She said the website was getting so many hits and to keep trying. She told me it could take hours to get through. I tried off and one for another hour. I set my child's tablet back to the factory defaults for the second time. I do not recommend anyone resetting to factory defaults because it wipes out all the preloaded apps. Finally, I was able to finish installing parental controls. I called the number again for a four digit code. This morning at 5:00 am, I was able to download parental controls on my other child's tablet with no issue and I kept his preloaded apps on that one. Having lots of patience paid off but it should not be this hard! I hope this helps.

MPF REGISTRATION Due to a high volume of traffic, we are currently experiencing problems with the Mobile Parental Filter server. Please follow these steps in an effort to resolve the issue. 1. From the homepage, go to Settings > Applications > Running > All. Select The Mobile Parental Filter app and tap the Clear Cache button. Press the power button and reboot the tablet. Once the tablet reboots, try to register the tablet again. 2. From the homepage, Web Browser Menu [on the right, three vertical dots] > Settings > Privacy and security [left] > COOKIES [right] > Clear all cookie data. Press the power button and reboot the tablet. Once the tablet reboots, try to register the tablet again. If these steps do not work and you continue to experience Mobile Parental Filter issues, we sincerely apologize. Please be patient and try registering the Parental Filter at a later time.

I'm having the exact same issue and I have put hours into trying to get this thing to work. I bought my son a Samsung and he was able to use his right away. My daughter on the other hand has to wait and she too keeps asking when it will work. I called tech support, tried to chat with tech support to no avail. I'm going to say it's a server issue because too many of us are running into the same problem.

Parental Control / Reinstall pre-loaded apps


Very upsetting, I agree! I factory reset yesterday and lost all my preloaded apps, the only way to get them back is to call tech support and have them do it. Unfortunately the number has been busy all day and tabeo website has been down on and off all day today. I will try again tomorrow. Good luck!

I can not set up the parent control


Found this from my own research this appears to work (Either way epic failure by Toys R Us who had better issue an apology and provide some sort of compensation for this let down!!).......

I was just able to register and setup parental control from desktop browser after more than 2 hours trying different approaches. I then used that account info to login into tablet and activate controls. Here is what I did step by step.

3. After Child's name was registered you will be redirected to payment page - you will have to enter Credit card payment info for $1 transaction (text says that you will be reimbursed for that later).

4. You should see page saying tablet was registered and You should receive email with your Id and password in clear text to email you used for registration.

5. Go back to tabled and tap on MobileParentalFilter icon (one that looks like flower) -- you will see registration wizard again -- on the bottom there is a link saying "ALREADY GOT ACCOUNT" - enter your email ID and password there - you will be taken to parental filter activation on tablet and all should be set.

That's it. Again be ready to restart this process from any point all over again because site is very slow and seems to loose your session.

same here...but after multiple attempts it finally does, but them when you try to set up parental control registration, when you get to the last step, it says that the registration has to be launched from the app on the connected tabeo...It is maddening....seems to be effecting a lot of people,,,I have not found one site yet with a solution....Taboe=Huge disappointment!

Tabeo tablet lost downloaded apps


This is the worst and most frustrating purchase ever!!! Finally registered it and downloaded apps from scratch since i lost my preloaded apps from factory reset and everytime we want to play a game, parental control pops up every time, even in the middle of the game!! Ridiculous!

I am trying to do the parental filter and it keep saying registration must be launched from the connected tablet by the app itself what am i doing wrong


And to make this all worse, their customer services is never available...about ready to return this product
