Pink in picture and green ghosting on live program with live people in picture

This TV is Sony model KP-48S75. I have a lot of pink on the screen and when watching a live program there is a green coming off of the individuals to one side. The service repair man told me that all three projection guns are bad. Is that possible that all guns are bad at the same time? Could you supply me with the part number of the guns also. Many Thanks

Yes sounds like all 3 tubes are going bad. they are prolly not available anymore. try to adjust the settings in the menu. adjust PICTURE as low as possible and boost the BRIGHTNESS this might help but fixing this tv would not be cost effective.

I have a LCD tv by Sony. It comes on, sound is fine, you can watch programs but there is a Pink ghost and a green ghost to the image. Any ideas?

The T con board is responsible for the image portrayed on tv screen. Any anomalies are likely to originate there.

The picture is is now in pink

If Sony KP-51ws510 it is an common issue with the picture tubes but there may be a simple way to adjust something in the set to correct this--these had problems with the 3 picture tubes where it can go to excessive red, green or blue.

Confirm model and issue and I will assist.

It only requires a screwdriver and the back does not have to be removed in this case.

Sony kp-48s75, shadow or ghosting picture

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
