Flashing F3 error code - GE JBP25G

This happened one time a month ago. Now it's happening more frequently. The oven will bake for an hour or two, then goes off and I get the F3 code. If I reset the breaker, it fixes the problem until next time the oven is used.

Is this something that is easy to fix? That is, would you recommend a repair person fix this, or can this be a do-it-yourself project?

Faulty thermostatic switch or regulator. Sometimes there is a heat sensitive bulb of gas that then opens or closes a switch or connects to a sender, i suspect the fault lies with one of these, telephone the helpline , try and find out if this is a common problem. Good Luck - the Yeti

Yes im afraid you will need someone in to do it if your not technically minded, all parts can be ordered from the net though, so if you can get someone to show you the bit thats faulty then you could order it yourself and fit it. Maybe its time to start again eh and get a newer or one that works second hand, a call out may cost you £50.oo, so is it worth it? All the best the Yeti

How to Fix Code F3 on GE Oven

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F3 in your range/oven means oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

WHen I start to bake I get an F3 error

We have a GE slide in oven JSP34. F3 came up while baking. I called the 1 800 number for GE and was told I needed a new over sensor. I ordered it and it arrived and had a local appliance person install it. Seems to work fine.

Receiving F3 Code

HI, no need to replace the unit at this time. this is a Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD).

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

GE Profile elec range JSP40 Locked door flashing can't use oven

Replace the oven temperature sensor to solve the F3 problem.
You may need to replace the oven lock micro switch to solve the locking problem.
Change the sensor first. Then try the oven.

Oven trouble

Do Not try to perform the below if: Oven is under warranty,You are not handy with a soldering gun, or Are afraid to do this.

The below solution applies only to my in-wall oven with F2 and F3 codes randomly, but presumably will work with other GE models.

I had the same trouble with a GE in-wall oven. The problem was on the electrical board behind the keypad. A pin that was soldered to the board, that was the input for the oven temp sensor, had cracked solder. So I re-soldered the pin and hopefully it will continue working.

I don't have a solution for you but I have the same problem and no owner's manual to refer to. This site won't let me post a new problem.
