SOURCE: Fan clutch removal

the four bolts holding the fan clutch to the water pump pulley are loosened counter clockwise. If you don't have a pulley holding tool at hand, use a wrench(closed end side) as a locking leverage on the studs(do not place the wrench on the nuts) while loosening the nuts 1 by 1 with another wrench. When reinstalling use the same method, but place black elec tape over the studs(prevent thread damage) after you hand tighten the bolts for the fan clutch. hopefully this helps

What is the torque specs for the clutch on a stihl 170 chain saw

There is no spec as such although Stihl will probably argue differently. Because the clutch goes on as left handed thread the direction of the motor running means it will tighten the clutch to a suitable torq when the tool is used.

I'm not familiar with your machine, BUT... most of those centrifugal clutches ARE NOT repairable, and must be replaced when failed.

I need to replace the clutch that is screwed on to the end of the crankshaft on my Stihl HS 45 Hedge Trimmer. How do I get the old clutch off of the crank?

Remove the plug and insert a length of old pull cord into the hole, makin sure to leave some to pull it out with. Also making sure the piston is at bdc, you turn the clutch counter clockwise

How do i remove the clutch from a ts 410

It should be threaded to the crank. On the end of the clutch it is hex shaped. I always used a metric socket and impact to pop them off. I am pretty sure they are left hand thread and there should be marked with "off" and an arrow showing this.

How do you remove the clutch assembly on a Stihl 5200 chainsaw please?

Hi, you need to buy a piston stop from a stihl shop to lock the piston then undo the clutch with a 19mm deep style socket, it is a left hand thread, regards Phil.

The automatic oiler on my sthil ms 390 is not working, the oil is running out of the front under the muffler instead of oiling the chain how do i fix this?

If I had an IPL we would attempt a repair but I do not, and Stihl IPLS are proprietary.
I am going to recommend you do search here:
ArboristSite.com Chainsaw thread (free to join)
http://www.arboristsite.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9
I did for "Stihl MS390 Oiler" and found many threads. This being one of the best although it does not address your exact problem.
THALL10326 and Lakeside are both Stihl mechanics. You will find them most helpful.

If you do not find an answer please post your problem there. Someone there has seen and repaired what you have. I think the oil pump or connector has failed. Both are behind the inboard clutch. If internal clutch parts must be removed they have a left handed thread (tighten to remove). HTH
