Delta Electronics ac/dc adaptor model adp 90sb BB

My Asus A8jp Laptop ''died''. The Delta Electronics ac/dc adaptor model adp 90sb BB was red hot and was making a beeping sound and it's green light was blinking. When I unplugged the adaptor from my computer, but left it plugged into the wall the sound went away and the green light stopped blinking, as soon as I re-connect it to my computer it begins beeping and blinking.

ASUS adapter for 501J series has a short in the cord. Am in need for a Model # ADP-65JH Input 100-240V Output 19V - 3.24A. What do I need to order. E-mail: krfecht@mac.com

You need a mains adapterthat has Input 100-240V Output 19V - 3.24A and the input plug that fits into the power socket of your laptop. It does not need to be from ASUS.

Google search the Internet for a suitable power adapter, make sure the output voltage is the same and the amps is 3.24 or higher.

The charger for my asus x5dc laptop won't work when plugged in. The power light on the charging unit now only flashes insted of being constant. Please help I need laptop for work tomorrow.

Get a new charger. They are pretty cheap. They are notorious for burning out. If that doesn't fix it then the motherboard is bad. But I'd assume the burned out charger.

My adp-75sb ab power cord stopped working all of a sudden what happened? ive had it for about 3 years if that helps

Well, sometimes thing just die and usually a year or 2 is the average lifespan of a charger. Not to mention that there may not be any rips or tears but there could be internal damage or perhaps a manufacture defect of some sorts. More than likely it either died of age or because of consumer use. Your simple solution would be to get a new charger.

My battery is low and when I plug the power cord into the laptop the light that was on on the adapter turns off and my laptop will not turn on. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400

I'm assuming you are using a GENUINE Dell laptop charger designed for this model?

Check the end of the adaptor, if it is the type that has the centre pin, make sure it has not snapped off.
Check the adaptor is putting out 20 volts DC by connecting a multimeter to the outer and inner parts of the DC jack.

Usually, the ac adaptor LED will flash green if there is no charge going to the laptop ("spitting back power"), however, a dead adaptor is often recognised by a lack of the lED light glowing

You can try with a universal adaptor, it will not charge the battery but at least will eliminate the charger or the charging circuit. If this also fails to power up the laptop, then the issue lies with damage to the motherboard

ASUS A8JP Will Not Power On

"When the charger is connected to an AC source, the green LED shines steady and bright."

are you talking about the led on the AC-adaptor? cause if its that led that dims down, its a defective ac-adapter (even tho you still might not believe me). replace it and try again.

how would you know that the battery is fully charged?

please rate my solution after you have tested if it works out for you :)

Laptop won't power up dies in the middle of movie-won't power up

You would probably be better off buying a new notebook. Not sure how tecnologically advanced you are but it seems you already did the troubleshooting yourself. But i am very interested in the a/c adaptor output. If the led on the adaptor is green that just means that it is getting power from the wall.

What did you mean by fluid leaking out?

It could be the mobo (motherboard) or it could be the connections from the power to the machine. If you want to put a new mobo in I have to warn you that taking apart a laptop is VERY difficult and I do not recommend this unless you are a PRO. This is just about the only link i can find to buy a new board. If you google your laptop model you will find out you definately are not alone with this problem
