Hello If it does not play the cleaner disc, just inspect whether the disc inserted in spins inside it. You can check this by open the upper cover of the player, and inserting a disc into it. If inserted disc spins inside, and the player won't read it, the fault is with its laser pickup unit, and it should be replaced with same type and number. If the disc dos not spins, the fault is with the sled motor [the motor that spins the inserted disc], has damaged, and should be replaced. OK.
Does the disc you insert are original..If not is isn't posibbles for your dvd player to not recognize yor disc cause most of the branded dvd players like you have didn't read pirated disc..but if the disc you insert is original. Try to clean your dvd player using a dvd disc cleaner.
Ensure a disc has been inserted into the player. Verify that the disc being used is supported by the player. Clean the disc. Attempt to play a different, commercially produced disc. Remove the disc and leave the player on for a half hour to resolve the possibility of moisture condensation inside the player. If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required.
According to Sony there is no hope if you tried their solutions as outlined in the manual. So I ordered a new Sony DVD Player from Dell. The Vidio portion of my player still works so I will just get a DVD Player this time.
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the DVD player cannot read or play the inserted disc.
Ensure the inserted disc is compatible with the DVD player.IMPORTANT: Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product for a list of compatible disc. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony® eSupport Web site.
Use a soft cloth to clean the disc.
Examine the disc for any cracks or scratches that might be interfering with playback.
Attempt to play another disc.NOTES:
If another disc plays in the DVD player, then the previous disc is faulty.
Some recordable discs may not play correctly because of the quality of the recording, the physical condition of the disc, or the characteristics of the recording device or authoring software used.
Remove the disc from the DVD player.
Turn off the DVD player.
Unplug the power cord of the DVD player from the AC outlet.
Let the DVD player remain without power for 1 minute.
Plug the power cord back into the AC outlet.
Turn on the DVD player.
Insert the disc into the DVD player.
Attempt to play the disc.
If still persists, its time for your device to get serviced.
If you are using a copied disc try a real one. But this model of DVD Player is made so cheap. it sound like the laser assembly is bad or the motor that spins the disc is stuck or going out. If you are good at electroninics you could take the lid off load a disc and see if it spins if not give it a spin clockwise and see if it takes off. You probably should replace unit for price of a new one.
