Try another battery. If it still doesn't work it's either the switch or the motor. You can take it apart and hook the motor directly to the battery. If it runs the switch is likely bad. If not the motor is bad. Since it doesn't have servicable brushes you replace the motor. Be careful when you take it apart because the switch is static sensitive and you could damage it! Do the work at a static sensitive station.

2008 Chevy Impala LTZ clicking by glove box

Sounds like you have continuing power to it and that would be the clicks its still trying to open the air passage when its already all the way open. Try unplugging it and give it a minute to lose power and drain then plug it but before you attach the arm turn it on and see if it continues to move. If so you possibly have some electrical issues. Also if it does stop when you put it to operation and only does the click with the arm attacked the arm may be getting stuck somewhere and not allowing the passage to open completely hence the clicking. My dodge ram did that after I had ac repaired the air passage was stuck closed I turned the ac from high to low in a fast repeated non stop pattern a few times and it hasn't given me problems since.

Can I test my 99 honda solenoid while it attached to my car? Is there a trick to removing Honda solenoids?

Yes you can test it, if it clicks and starter doesn't engage then the solenoid is defective, if you have power to the solenoid and the ignition trigger wire lights up the 12 volt test light when the key is held to the start position you have either a defective solenoid or a defective battery OR battery cable connection,.

My 1993 Dodge Caravan won't start. There's a clicking sound under the hood when I turn the key. I was told to reset the map sensor. Although, I don't know how. I put in a new starter yeste

Do not go back to any " mechanic" who told you to re-set the map sensor. Those are some baaad mechanics, giving you a schuck job. That is outrageous . If the clicking is coming from the relay and fuse center by the battery, you probably need a new $10 starter relay. If the clicking is coming from the starter solenoid on the new starter you put on, then it's not a bad part, but likely a loose connection at the battery, or at the starter where the big cable wire attaches. Are your battery cable connections corrosion-free and clean and tight? Did you happen to remove a ground wire and forgot to re-attach it? Check your battery ground, the negative cable where it attaches to the frame of the car, or to the engine. That should be clean and tight also. If the starter solenoid is clicking, it means that the starter is getting a signal from your ignition switch to turn the starter motor on, but the starter motor is not getting full battery power from the battery to start turning and thus cranking the engine. The starter motor gets its full battery power from the positive positive cable. One end is on the battery, and the other end is on the starter. If your battery is still charged up enough to start the car, all connections are tight, you have a new starter, and the solenoid just clicks, it may be a bad battery cable.
I will stop here, and wait for your response . Hope you find it, just keep looking. There is no such thing as re-set the map sensor, period.

Freezes on the warm boot screen MC9000

This can be for a number of reasons.

First thing would be to try and cold boot the device:-

Remove battery half way, hold power button and trigger, push battery in fully until click and then release power and trigger

If that fails next thing would be to try and re-flash the operating system. This is done by using an SD card and loading the latest operating files onto it. The SD card slot is located under the keypad. A cross head screwdriver is required to remove the keypad. Search on symbol software download site for the latest. The download also has a readme with detailed instructions. Once the files are on perform a cold boot.

Remove battery half way, hold power button and trigger, push battery in fully until click and then release power and trigger. Drop the terminal in a cradle so that it runs on external power.

Hope this helps.

If the battery is brand new then yes, the starter assembly/starter solenoid (located on top of the starter) is bad.

Fuel pump won't power up on 94 rf600r

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On most Suzukis with fuel pump that I have worked on, the wiring would be:
  • Yellow/Green - start interlock, connected to the clutch lever position switch and/or starter control relay;
  • Black/White - ground;
  • Orange/Yellow - ignition B+12; and
  • Black/Yellow - trigger pulse, connected to the - terminal of one of the ignition coils and/or to the CDI/igniter.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

What can it be

I have both a Stealth, and a 3000GT, so I guess you could say that know a bit about the platform. this sounds like one of three possible things.
  • Starter
  • Starter relay (in that funny shaped box behind the passenger side headlight)
  • "click click start" or maybe loose trigger wire at the starter
If you know anyone with a 3000, try to borrow their starter relay, it is about a 10 second swap, and you will know very quickly if it is the problem.

If the starter solenoid isn't even clicking, I am leaning heavily towards either a completely disconnected trigger wire, or a bad starter. If it is clicking, then it is most likely click click start

click click start occurs because Mitsu, in their infinite wisdom put a wire to the starter (the trigger wire) which was BARELY sized large enough to carry enough current to activate the solenoid on the starter, over time, and corrosion, the wire becomes too thin to carry enough current, so it does not fully engage the solenoid... the solution is to install a relay at the starter so the trigger wire closes the circuit in the relay from the hot power side of the relay to the trigger. The hot power side of the relay is ALWAYS on, and the wire is big enough to carry enough amperage. Thats the way I did it, you can also put the relay up by the battery, here are instructions for doing it this way, personally, I like the relay down tie-wrapped to the starter myself.
