My toaster oven quit working--the led display lights up just fine but no heat. I unplugged/replugged and it worked! for awhile. Then, the same thing and the plug had no effect.

take it in to an appliance repair shop as it may be the elements or thermostat control that is faulty
get a quote as the repair may be more expensive than a replacement unit

My toaster oven started beeping and showed a flashing error message. Anyone have any clue what may be wrong?

I suspect that the Logic Control Board is shot. If the unit is 1 year old or less try:

In the U.S.A., warranty is offered by Sunbeam Products, Inc., located in Boca Raton,Florida 33431. 1.800.334.0759
In Canada, this warranty is offered by Sunbeam Corporation (Canada) Limited, located at 5975 Falbourne Street, Mississauga, Ontario L5R 3V8

To refresh, the beeper should sound once. The definition of the Beeper from the manual follows:
BEEPERFUNCTION
(1) When you plug the unit in, the beeper sounds once and " - - - "appears in the LCD.
(2) When you press one of the four menu buttons the beeper will sound one time.
(3) When you press the adjustable button, every time you press the button, the beeper
will sound once. If you press the button continually, the beeper only sounds one time.
(4) When you press the start button the beeper will sound once, and ":" will flash, that means
the unit is in operation. Once the unit has begun the cooking cycle, the menu selection,
time or temperature cannot be changed. The unit must be stopped and reset.
(5) When the unit is in operation, press the stop button, the beeper will sound once and the unit
will stop operation.
(6) At the end of pre-set time, the unit will sound a long beep to remind you the work is done.

What ever setting I use Toaster, Pizza etc the oven runs for 3 minutes and stops and in the read out window E 1 comes on the screen

Unplug the unit for at least 30 seconds. Plug in, set clock. When making pizza punch in the time you wish it to run, such as "7:30" then "start". Watch carefully the first time to see how much time it takes to cook to your liking.

Black & Decker toaster oven won't work

We've had many of these over the years...they seem to run along just fine, and then, one day, they quit. There is no fuse, but if it's the only thing plugged into that wall outlet, the one thing you might check is the circuit breaker on that line. To be sure, plug a lamp into the socket just to make sure you're getting electricity out of the wall.

Sorry to say, it may be time to purchase a new unit.

Unit will not turn on. No power to anything on the display. The outlet is verified working. This happened once before and a few hours later just miracled itself back to life. any idea Is there some...

An loose, intermittent power switch is the cause of that and it associated with lose wiring inside. Check it and replace lousy parts once you done that your unit will back to normal again.
I hope my idea help you.

Does not heat up.

Mine worked for awhile, then started overheating. I (former appliance repairman) found that the fan needed oiled. While I was checking it with the outside covers removed, I saw that two of the connections on the top heating element were arcing and burning! This accounted for a strange smell.
