If it detected the usb has something plugged in but doesn't know what it is, use computer manager, (control panel. administrative tools), see if your drive is there but not initialized.

How to view jpeg photo's via usb thumbdrive

Better make sure there are some jpg files to view. Go to "My Computer". Click on the thumb drive's icon to display the thumb drive contents. You should see the files if they are there. If there are there you can click or double click on each of them to open the jpg and display the photo.

I have samsung NM0802 hard disk drive. it is not working displayed in my computer.

When the hard disk is not displayed this usually means the hard disk hasfailed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an USB mass storage device and you cannot open the various folders and fileson this drive, then this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

I tried to format my Dell laptop but it display internal hard drive not found

Go to the BIOS configuration and see it the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn,t detect the hard drive then the hard drive coulf be faulty.
Another way to check the hard drive. Remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and then connect this to a computer's USB port. If this computer does not detect it as and external storage device, then the hard drive is faulty.
To get your laptop operational again, insertl a new hard drive and install Windows on this hard drive, together with the laptop's device drivers and your programs.

Cannot access hard drive, USB port detects it, but does not access

You can verify what drive has been detected by your Operating System, which I assume is Windows of some sort by going to: Control Panel -> Admistrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management -> Your Hard disk will be displayed with all existing partitions.
I order to use any partitions in your new drive, you will need to assign a drive letter to each new partition.
If you have a brand new drive that is completely unformatted, then you will need, also via the context menu, Create partitions, Format partitions and assign a drive letter so that you can use the formatted partitions.

Hope it helps: let me know how you go!

Below is example of Disk Management display showing my external USB 300GB drive with _EXT disks & displayed context menu:

Is your hard drive detected by the BIOS? You can also check this by Right click on taskbar > properties > startmenu > customize > advanced > scroll down completely and select system administration tools "Display on the all programs menu" > ok. Click on start > all programs > administrative tools > computer management > double click on storage. click on disk management(local) here you should see your lacie. If you dont then the drive is probably not detected. If you see, you can just partition it from here and it will appear in your my computer. If it is indeed detected, you will have to use a application like Recover my files to recover your data and then partition and format the drive.
