Soleus Air HM2-15R-32 powers up but will not heat - power light keeps blinking

My son uses this heater in his room and my husband shut it off one day. My son then tried to turn it back on later in the day and it wouldn't heat up. The power light just keeps blinking.

SOURCE: Optimus H-4338 The warning light came on and now the heater will

there's no reset, but unscrew the 3 screws in the back. Cut out white sleeve that covers the red & white wires. Take the fuse out from beginning to end. Attach the white & red wires directly. The fuse is not needed. Wrap w/ electrical tape. You, me and everyone that has bought this heater had the same problem. I called customer support. This is what they told me.

SOURCE: Power light keeps blinking

Occassionally a surge may disrupt the power supply. Unplug the power cord, wait a minute or so, and reconnect. This will reset unit in most instances.

SOURCE: Pilot light lit but no heat

the pilot's millivolt generator may be at fault.  if you have a meter that is capable of measuring a very small DC voltage, connect it up to the very end of the thermocouple and the copper cappillary. the thermocouple has a welded bead at the very end inside that generates a small DC voltage. Same principle of a J-K thermocouple. Iron constintan  - two dissimiller metals where joined together produce a voltage when heated.  the thermocouple actuates a millivolt electromagnet inside the valve to keep the valve pellet open.  no voltage there it won't actuate the electromagnet.

SOURCE: Tv cuts off and green light flashes

If your set was manufactured around July 2005, you may need a firmware upgrade to solve this issue. On the Sony website you can enter your model # and serial # to see if you TV is affected. If so, it is easy to have done and may be free from Sony. It sounds like the issue they described in the writeup on the required formware update. I had mine done within few months of when i bought it (purchased in Dec 2005) and it has been working flawlessly since.

Good luck!

SOURCE: TV turns off and power light blinks unpluged andd still does it.

Likely to be the STK convergence chips causing a protection circuit to switch the TV off. Have you got any onscreen convergence problems (i.e, colour fringes)?

Using as heater and unit is blowing cold air

A heat pump is an air conditioner that reverses its refrigerant flow. In the cooling mode, the evaporator is cold to the room and its condenser is hot. In the heating mode, a valve reverses the refrigerant flow and makes the evaporator warm and the condenser cold.

So the in door unit is comming on and blowing air but the out door unit is not... i ck power to the unit and all the leads inside no wires looked burnt....i thinking it is the top power supply, black box on...

Toget proper heat, keep your temp setting at 30+ degree and also mode in "heat"position. If still no heat, check your heating sensor for closed circuit by anOHMs metre. It it's with RV, check power to RV.If it's with heatingelement check power to element. If power is there but still no heat meanselement defective. Replace new heating element. Thanks. Toget proper cool, keep the tips as follows:
1. Check air filter is cleaned. 2. Check indoor coil is cleaned. 3. Checkindoor blower motor is working. 4. Keep in cool mode. 5. Set temp minimum 3degrees less than room temp.6.Check compressor is working with correctpressure.

No heat generated by Soleus HGW-308 Mid-Size Heater

If you can hear a "click" when you turn the temperature knob, and the unit is plugged in, chances are the heating has failed.

If you have a multimeter, unplug the unit from the wall.

Put the meter on R x 1000 ohms, and put the meter probes on each of the plug blades. Rotate the temperature control through it's range. You should have just a few ohms when the control has clicked (you really don't care at this point), as you turn the temperature control to a hotter temperature. You should have no ohms when turning the other way (this all assumes you are in a typical room temperature environment.).

If no reading is obtained, either the element has failed, the temperature control has failed, the "tip-over" switch has failed, there is a burned terminal in the wiring, or sometimes a heat fuse fails.

If it's the element or temperature control, it's probably best just to buy a new heater. The other three are identify and replace.

Efficency with Oil Column heating

because it operates on room air temperature, if this is the only means of heat to this room, leaving it on would be more economical thus keeping the rise in air temp time less=less time it works hard to match what you desire. but if not only source of heat no. time to heat room would be almost the same thus you would save what you used during the day due to fluctuations in room temps between time your furnace would kick on and off.

Soleus Heat/Air/Dehumidfer Unit

I have had a soleus wall unit since 2005.
It is a wall unit in my apt...I have never had to use the heating part...but use the cooler part alot.
I can not figure out if that lil raindropis for adding moisture to a room...or is it to remove moisture from the room?

My apt always has to much humidity, so I do use that setting quite often, but can't tell any difference in the humidity gage.

Who knows anything about using one of these.
