Question about Jandy Laars Lite2 Pool & Spa Heater - Electronic Dual Ignition - 125,000 BT

Jandy Lite2 Pool heater will not stay lit after firing.

Just hooked up our new Jandy Lite2 125,000 btu pool heater and there seems to be a problem. The pump kicks on like it should and the heater fires but it only stays lit for about 15 seconds, then it shuts off. After 3 of the same instances, the heater place a trouble code on the screen, meaning ignition problem. I am 70 feet from the gas meter, so I used 1" gas line for good measure. Also, double and triple checked the wiring. Any ideas?

Thanks jd21. There is a flame sensor that sits just over one of the burner tubes. It does seem to be in the flame where its supposed to be. Is there any way to test it to make sure it's working properly?

Look at the sensor that tells unit that everything is lit. There should be some sort of sensor that tells the ECU that the ingnition area is a burn temp. It sounds like the unit can't tell that flame is lit. Hope this helps.

Aside from the other suggestions made here... make sure you have the inlet, and outlet pipes from the heater routed properly. If you have them backwards, the unit will fire, then kick off shortly after.

Reason for this is because the unit kicks off when the water temp at the inlet reaches a specific temp, if they are swapped, it's measuring the water it just heated, not the water coming back from the pool/ spa. Make sense?

Jandy Lite2 Pool heater will not stay lit after firing

If your persure is to high you are probally running propane in a natural gas heater. If this is a new heater take it back and get a new L.P. verson if not they make a conversion kit with new gas orfaces for the burner and a new gas block for the gas valve. if your tech dosen't know this get a new tech, this is a box full of fire next to your hause. Don't save money on the tech it can cost to much!
