How do i turn off my built in camera on my macbook?

Exit any programs using the iSight camera to turn it off. Programs like Photo Booth and some VOIP software will automatically turn the camera on when started. Some programs, like iChat, will turn the camera off when the active window is closed, even if the program is still running. The green LED light next to the iSight lens will turn off when not in use to indicate it has been disabled.

My webcam is not wking on my mac book pro ,it says device not connected

Thank you for contacting FixYa Support, I am glad to assist.

The best way to check if your iSight camera is working is to launch the built-in Mac OS X chat application, iChatAV and under Preferences check the video setting and see if the video will activate the built-in iSight camera.

As iChatAV is the defacto application to use and check video settings, if you cannot get the device to work, then you will more than likely need to take your Macbook in for at least a diagnostics to have your iSight camera checked.

This iSight is a built-in device, that if not working, as an internal device for your Macbook Pro, it can only be checked by a certified Mac technician.

If you are referring to an external web camera connected to your Macbook Pro, however, please feel free to reply back to this post and specify the model you have and we will be glad to assist you with that product.

Why is my built-in webcam not working when im using my skype?

I had this problem, too - but I'm not sure how I fixed it:-) Try these: 1. Check Skype options: Skype :: Preferences :: Video  Did you activate Skype video? Can you select the iSight camera? After yes for the above: Do you see yourself concentrating?
If not:- Try restting the pram http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379. - check for skype updates - I remember some stuff regarding iSight problems, try searching for the following terms: macbook isight skype
Hope some of these might help
