Question about Nokia 6085 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Nokia 6085 does not recognize sim card

Hello, I got caught in a very heavy downpouring rain, and my phone got wet. I immediately took the battery and sim card out so it could dry, when I put everything back together a day later, it asks if I want to start up without a sim card. I have tried the card in another phone, and it just says Sim not valid.

Please help

Got n95 wet didn't drop it in water just in my pocket in heavy rain, it did work but stopped about 15 min later and now 24hrs later it turns on appears to have a backlight but blank screen what can i do?

Dear user,

Immediately put if off, remove the sim and battery, removable panels if any and keep it for drying preferably in an area with +35 C temperatures but not too hot also.

This should have been done when it got wet itself, but still try this out.

If it does not work fine after doing this then you need to send it for repairs.

I can't find the part in my phone for the sim card!

The SIM card on a Nokia 6085 cell phone is under the battery.
Remove the back cover
Remove the battery
There is a metal sim card holder located near the base of the phone.
Unlatch it with your fingernail and swing it up.

Insert the SIM with the notched corner first.

maybe your phone is locked.

you can try to power up the phone first without a sim card.
Then power off. And then power on with the sim card.

if it still dont work, you should contact nokia.

How to delete assigned phone number on Nokia 6085

The phone number is stored on the SIM card of a handset.

If you have a new SIM card with the new phone, and the number is the same, then the old SIM card will simply not work. If you wish you can simply remove the SIM card from the old phone and discard it.

Hello there and welcome to lfete at Fixya Support Team

Please be sure that your phone have a inserted sim card and it is working. You can ex try to insert another sim card and see if it works.

another possibility is to take the batteries out from the phone and leave them out for a night and then try again .

Hope that helps
IF NOT then try to return here

On my Nokia 6085, only the on/off key is working- no others. Also, the phone will accept calls, but snce the keys don't work, I can't make any. Can you help me?

Did the phone get wet? If so that is your answere. other wise i would take out the battery now and the sim card, wait about 15 secs then put it back in. also try charging it over night. see if that helps

Sim card

If you remove the battery cover and the battery, the SIM holder is right at the bottom of the phone - it is a little hatch that you have to swing up after pressing up the latch at the bottom.

SIM Card not recognized.

the nokia 3110 is not a powerful device it will surely not recognise the sim because it contained the data which might be copied to the phone memory as well as the sim card so during the sim after being wet & dry was certainly not going to be recognized by the cell as its data was corrupted

Razr V3 water damage

Sounds dire. If you look inside the back of the phone, there should be a small spot that turns from white to pink when the phone gets wet. If that spot is bright pink, most repairers won't even bother trying to fix it. Best off buying another phone!

It got wet in rain and then switched OFF

hello there! thanks for using Fixya.com!!

basically, you should not turn the power on if your mobile phone got wet or any electronic devices because it will create short circuit and more problems!
You should remove the casing, battery and the sim card and let it dry, maybe around 48 hours. Then that's the only time you should try to turn the power on, if the problem still there, bring your unit immediately to any technician to open it and see the problems are.
