If a DVD has been cloned the speed and angle of the laser may not be compatible with the players read head. If you are using Commercial DVD's then the alignment is standard and should work OK. If the player is CD\DVD only you cannot play Blu-ray discs.

The solution for your problem will be needing a little knowledge with electronic repair and hands on.Most common problem for portable DVD player is their 1) Spindle motor the 2) flex cable ( tin ribbon wire connecting the optic lens and the main board)

note: to check if your spindle motor is working good, you must measure it's resistance and it should be around 200ohms.
For the flexcable all you have to do is check the continuity.

Unfortunately, if the player will no longer read any commercial dvd that you attempt to play, the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. The unit has a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase. You will need the receipt in order to receive a warranty exchange.

I work for COBY tech support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

Unfortunately, if you're getting that error message on every disk you try to play, it means the player has developed a problem in the dvd mechanism. This can't be repaired.

The warranty is 90 days from the day of purchase. A receipt would be required for warranty exchange.

While this solution doesn't "fix" your problem, I hope that by giving you the facts, I've enabled you to make an informed decision as to what to do next.

If there is nothing on the disc, it will read, "no disc". It will only read and/or identify discs with media loaded or burned onto it. Your unit is a player, not a DVD+R (recorder). Can record VHS, but not discs.

I keep getting wrong disc error on my Daenyk DVD player and do not understand why I have played these DVDs on it prior and no Problem


Hello,

The reason the player keeps giving you wrong disc error is because the player is not reading the disc.

the reason is either the lens is dirty or weak.

To test if the lens is dirty, try to clean the lens with a lens cleaner and test the player DVD disc.

To fix it if the lens is weak, open the player with the appropriate screwdriver, open the disc tray, and replace the lens with a new lens, test it with a DVD disc.

Keeps saying wrong disc


first i downloaded the manual and read it through... it mentioned wrong disc but did not give any solution so i rang Teac and they told me it was a malfunction and by the time i paid for them to look at it i could buy a new dvd..... so i am going to buy a new dvd..... not really a solution but the only one available

Wrong disc problem


This is a known problem - there is no fix - if you call coby customer service they will tell you to try a dvd lens cleaner -this will not fix the problem. Best advise - throw it away.

Dvd not reading


The spindle motor magnets have started to flake, causing the DVD's to slip. like on a slip mat. You need to take the cover off and remove the flaky magnetic particles on the magnets that clamp onto the DVD's. You can put a very light coat of rubber cement on the lower magnet and let it dry completely, this should give the lower magnet/spindle motor some traction on the disc and get it spooling up in the correct amount of time.

After loading every disc displayes "wrong disc'


are they bootleg dvd's? if not try getting a lense cleaner because wrong disc means it's reading your dvd's as .mov files which only play on quicktime in a computer. if it reads your cleaner as wrong disk too then get yourself a refund cuz it has a motherboard malfunction.
