Unfortunately, this is a technician only repair. If you are a technician, you certainly can fix it yourself, but you will need to aquire a new motherboard.

If you are not a technician, there are many available throughout the country. You may send the unit to me, or search motherboard on Ebay and find technicians who can do this for you.

I feel for you, since this recently happened to my laptop as well. And even if it could be "cleaned up" enough to start the machine again, you would never know when it will quit again. The best and truly only fix is to replace the motherboard.

If you had a power surge at your home, and no more power seems to be going to the heater, you must make sure that none of your wires from the load center all the way to the heater are intact and all have been wired correctly and none are lose. If you must be very careful reading manufacturing dates as these dates are actually displayed backwards and the year is actually displayed as the month, you may in fact have an older heater, as sometime when these heaters are purchased by distributors they don't get to sell them until way after or they have had one in storage for a while when they decide to sell them. I have spoken to the guys at the factory and they are very informative, I don't see how they could not help you as I deal with them on a daily and we always try and help there customers, why don't you bring the heater in there service department is great it only takes 5 minutes to fix the heater. If you mail it in its only 24-72 hr turn around.

What is the best solution to fixing a MacBook Pro with a pink screen with lines all over it?

Since you only purchased it 6 months ago, the solution is to use the 12 month warranty. As long as there is no obvious exterior impact marks, then it will be repaired or replaced for free. Just try to copy off any data first, because an exchange does not include data transfer.

If your laptop is 10 months old, I highly doubt it is the battery. If you purchased it new, I suspect even more that it is not the battery. I would personally try the battery if you really think it is the problem because it is an extremely cheap thing to try, but it is my opinion that you need to take this laptop to a shop and get it looked over...

My touchpad in my toshiba computer is not working. i purchased my computer two months ago. what should i do

You are still in warrenty, go to Toshiba website and get to customer services. Also - as its under 3 months you could take it to where you purchased it from and they should sort it, dont let them tell you to go to the manufacturer as in the legal sense they have a duty to you as you purchased from them and it's been under 3 months.
DONT open it up or let any technician open it up while its in warrenty, that will void the warrenty.

Bought an e5211 from sainsburys 1 month ago, came up warning windows 7 not genuine last night?can i have your thoughts

You have two options.

1) You can ring the number for microsoft and tell them the license key under the laptop on the sticker and tell them were you purchased the laptop and they can tell you how to re-enter the key incase someone put in a wrong digit when installing windows 7.

Option 2) Take it back to Sainsburys and explain the problem to there customer services team and see if they can get it sorted or a replacement laptop.

If you select option two make a copy of all your files incase they lose all your documents etc.

Did you purchase new or used? You are entitled to use it on two computers only. If someone has previously used it, you're in trouble. I personally ran into this. If it is new, call Rosetta Stone in Virginia and ask for customer service. They will walk you throgh the process. If you bought it used, make them cancel the previous activation. They may fight you, but it would be a restraint of trade to not activate you as long as it is not in use on another computer.

Grinding fan noise HP dv6 1130TX

First, if you just purchased the unit, you should have the problem fixed by HP under warranty.
HP offers a extended 1 year from the date of purchase. Thats 2 years on startup problems.
You are correct on the noise comming from the fan.
This will not go away and may get worse.
If the fan slows down or stops when needed, the CPU will go for a walk.
Email HP customer care and log your problem.
Make sure you have reg. your unit first.
