SOURCE: Canon PowerShot A590 camera won't turn on. I have

If you make sure that the memory card is properly seated and the batteries in and the battery door properly closed, then it should power up. If still no success, it may be the micro switch that closes when the battery door is closed.

SOURCE: I have a powershot A480 canon camera and it date

If you press the "Function Select" button then press the outer ring UP or DOWN to select the icon that looks like a clock on the left and panel. Then press the outer ring LEFT or RIGHT until the L is selected and appears in the panel on the LHS. That will remove the date stamps from the photos.

Cheers, Richard

PS Great choice of camera by the way.

SOURCE: I have a Canon Powershot A560. The date and time

Think your problem is that you are looking in the wrong spot. Don't know why your manual is telling you to look there (are you sure your manual is for the A560)?
Your CR1220 date/time battery is located in the regular battery compartment. Look right beside your AA batteries. You'll see a little flap labeled "CR1220". Slide this open with your fingernail, and take the little coin battery down to your local drugstore to buy a replacement.

I need to reset the date and time to the correct date and time. Cannon A520

Press the MENU button and use cursor-right to select the wrench-and-hammer icon. Use cursor-up/down to select the clock-and-calendar icon and press the SET button. Use cursor-left/right to move between fields, cursor-up/down to change them.

Full directions are in the "Setting the Date/Time" section of the manual (page 22 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

The date and time is asked whenever the camera is switched on

Have you set the date and time? If so then your camera's date battery is probably dead and needs to be replaced. First get yourself a CR1220 battery, most often found at your local Radio Shack or online at amazon. Then open the camera's terminal cover (where your USB is) and using your fingernail. Open the battery holder, remove the old battery, and replace with the new one. Reinsert the holder with new battery in your camera and turn on your unit. set the date and time and you should be all set. For further information see your instruction manual or download from Canon at:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0900011217/01/PSA520510CUG-EN.pdf'

The instructions for changing the date battery start on page 137.

Hope this helps!

I have Canon Powershot 520 camera. How to get date and time on the picture?

Hello,
according to page 55 of the user manual you can embed the date and time into the image only when "postcard print mode" is selected. Make sure you have already set time and date as shown in page 22 of the same manual. You have then to select "date stamp" in the "rec" menu then select "date" or date&time" using the right or left buttons, and confirm with "ok". Then you shoot the photos and time and date will be embedded in it.
You can download the user manual here:
