The Playstation 3 is a wonderful video
game console, however, with heavy usage, the laser does eventually burn out.
The first signs of the laser starting to burn out is that your game will start
freezing during game play. Eventually the game will stop reading altogether (even
though movies sometimes still work). Eventually movies will stop working and
the whole laser will eventually die.

This sounds to me to be a problem with the CFL tubes, soon they will stop working altogether and your diplay will be very dim, or may not come up at all. In which case if under warranty return it, if not you may need to replace the CFL tubes.
That printer has a feed switch which changes from the top feeder to the drawer below, the little light tells you whether to put paper in the top or bottom. either make sure both are loaded or switch to the one that has paper.
