Some people will tell you that it's ridiculous to expect a warranty on tools but in my experience, the best quality tools come with a lifetime warranty. they tend to be very expensive makes but if you are serious about your gardening, it's worth it.

What are cultivating tools? My neighbor said I have to buy some if I want to start gardening?

Cultivating tools are the tools needed to perform the tasks from breaking up the soil and preparing it for seeding to keeping the weeds out of the garden . The size of the garden and the type of soil determine how complex your tool collection. A 10' x 10' plot with soft soil could be handled with as little as a spade to break up or turn over the soil, a garden rake to level for seeding, and a weeding hoe to keep the weeds at bay. A larger garden with harder soil may require a power tiller to prepare the soil for seeding and there are countless types of hand and power tools to help with the task of weeding and soil conditioning. There are many inexpensive gardening books to help get you started. I recommend that you do some reading to see what you are getting into.

I have a really small garden and want to buy gardening tools but everything seems massive? Any cultivating tools out there that wont take up so much space in my tiny shed?

I also have a tiny garden - I found this website to be really helpful as they have a compact range for small gardens;
It's a uk based site but their site can give you some good ideas of what to look for.

How can i tell if the garden tools i buy are good quality?

First of all stick with a reputable garden tool company. there are some that have been around for decades and they realy know what they're doing. A good test is by the handle - look for handles that are connected by a socket or a strapped connection.

My Ryobi x430 power head will not start. If I spray starting fluid in the carb it starts and runs for a few seconds. The primer pump seems to work because bulb fills with fuel. What next?

if it still under the 3 year ryobi warranty let those knuckleheads deal with it. my x430 bent a valve after 7 uses but in fairness home depot exchanged it for a new 1 after the 30 day store warranty. hopefully this 1 will be better. otherwise if it runs on starting fluid it is probably a carbureutor problem. if you are not real technical then just purchase and install a new carb. they are cheaper than you think and usually remedy 90% of poor running or starting probs. install should b straight forward by looking at the old carb removal. cheapest place around to buy is jacks small engines in jarrettsville maryland. they have an internet site and stock about everything. hope this helps
