Holding the camera with the front facing you, slide the face to the right. The whole front face of the camera comes off. The batteries are under the front face.

I have a vivitar camera 3188 and can not find where to insert the battery can you help please?

The battery compartment is along the left edge of the camera on the side nearest the lens. You will see some ridges along that side. Place your thumb on the ridges and slide the cover up toward the top of the camera. Once it slides up about 1/4 inch it will open on a hinge.

Now, if you could just get it to make you breakfast in bed....
Remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

No power

Make sure that the battery is propperly inserted. The battery port isnt keyed to only accept the battery the right way around so its easy to inadvertently insert the battery so that there is no terminal contact. The result would be what you decribe. Simply turn the battery over and insert as indicated by the picture inside the port.

Either the battery is not making proper contact in its chamber or a fuse is open.
