How do I set up remote live viewing on my I pad

you will need a compatible application(iCamViewer) to connect it to your camera or camera server for iPad and that allows you to configure streams and IP settings as as well as your username and password to access the camera.
If you are using static internal IP address so you have to do Port Forwarding Setup.

I have a sentient cctv dvr from Maplin I can view it on my phone at home which is fine I wanted to know if I can view camera footage when I'm not at home etc. at work

Yes you can definitely view your CCTV footage on your mobile phone at your work via internet. Sentient CCTV DVR basically is a night vision camera. You must know the IP of the camera and IP Video server. Connecting your phone to CCTV camera via the protocol you can view the CCTV footage's in your phone. Night vision cameras are used for surveillance purpose. I would prefer cctv camera with ir illuminator for good image quality in the night time that will clear footage quality in my phone.
Recently many new applications have also being launched by security cameras with a view to solve problem you mentioned.

Hello, i setup a IP cam. Create an account on dyndns.org for the IP. But now when i type the given url i am linked to the setup of my Thomson router TG585 v8 What can I do? There is nothing else except...

Hi Sten -- There are several non-intuitive things you have to setup with any router and Dyndns to make this work.

On Dyndns you can setup your static or hardly every changing dynamic Internet (external - provided by your ISP) IP address in your Dyndns account settings (Not the internal NAT IP - 192.168.x.x address of the cam). if it changes more often you need a dyndns client.

On the router you have to setup port forwarding to the internal (NAT address ex:192.168.x.x) address of the camera including the port number -- or you could just create a DMZ (feature of many but not all routers) for the internal IP of the cam.

If you've done the above correctly you might want to check the troubleshooting sections at Dyndns.org located HERE and HERE.

Happy Networking and Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I have a cctv camera installed in my office i want to access it i don't know how to access it. someone says that there is a website 198.168.1.100 login

Could be anything as IP address, like 192.168.xxx.xxx , so you need to talk to the IT guys. If this is not an option try to install this freeware "Advanced IP scanner" from http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/network/fwscanner.html and run a scan. Hopefully you will see something like "CCTV" or "camera" next to an IP address. Then you can open a browser and type "http:// ipaddress you found" (example http://192.168.1.100).

I have just installed my Uniden UDW20553 Video Surveillance System. I was under the impression that I would have remote access to view my cameras from anywhere in the world on my laptop. Have looked high...

The only solution I have found is using Remote Desktop Connection and running the Uniden application. On my Iphone I found that using Pocket Cloud Remote Desktop (RDP Itunes download application) works best. You must also download a free application named "Pocket Cloud Companion" on the PC your Uniden software is running. Pocket Cloud Companion must be running for connection to made through 3G, Edge or Wifi networks. Also, you have to configure your remote connections by using your PC's IP address rather then the name of your pc, particularly if making connection on 3G network.

I have a Buffalo WBMR-G54 ADSL Router. The local IP address of the router is 192.168.1.1. My Medion desktop computer connects connects to my Buffalo router using an Ethernet cable. I use the wireless...

> Zone Alarm free firewall and Avast antivirus have been installed on both computers

Your router is already acting as a "firewall" to block "unsolicited" traffic from reaching the computers on your LAN. So, unless you use Zone Alarm to block "outgoing" connections
(such as a computer-virus would try to make when "calling-home", there's little benefit
to using the Zone Alarm software.

> If I use Internet explorer to connect to http://myname.dyndns.org, Internet Explorer does connect successfully to the network. However, it invites me to enter the username and password for my Buffalo WBMR-G54 router - not for the storage drive.

While you are "forwarding" TCP port 21, you are not "forwarding" TCP port 80 (as used by the 'http://' protocol). So, when you connect from the Internet to your "public" IP-address, it is the router that responds, rather than one of your computers inside your LAN.

IMHO, it is "bad" that your router's web-interface is "exposed" to attacks from the Internet.
Either "forward" TCP port 80, or configure the router to use a _different_ port number for "remote management".

> If I enter the Router user name and password, that allows me to access the Router menus via the Internet, which confirms that my account at DynDns has translated the IP address successfully.

Correct. Hopefully, you're the only one who knows the correct username/password, and there is nobody that is doing "brute-force" attacks on your router, trying to login to "hijack" your router.

> if I use Internet Explorer or FileZilla to access ftp://myname.dyndns.org, I cannot connect to the router

Correct. The 'ftp://' protocol uses TCP port 21, which the router is "forwarding" to one of the computers on your LAN.

> or the storage drive - so I cannot access any of my files remotely.
> FileZilla reports -Status: Resolving address of bob1944.dyndns.org
> Status: Connecting to 78.144.xxx.xxx:21...
> Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message

So far, so good.

Is FileZilla expecting a "specific" content in that "welcome" message, or will "any" response be "close-enough" ?

On a computer on the Internet, open a command-line prompt:

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Enter FTP bob1944.dyndns.org
Press Enter
Do you get a "connecting" message?
Do you get a "connected" message?
Do you see the "welcome" message?

Note that the FTP protocol usually uses _two_ ports for File Transfer:

* port 21 for "control" (sending/receiving commands/responses)
* a "random" port for "data" transfers (including directory-listings)

It's this "random" port that your router is not forwarding.

However, some FTP-clients (probably including FileZilla) and some FTP-servers
support "passive" mode, where both the "control" and the "data" connections "share" port 21.

So, configure FileZilla to use "passive" mode, and _hope_ that your FTP-server supports "passive" mode.

How to setup up my cctv cam to sonicwall tz170

If your camera is connected to DVR then do the port redirection on your firewall so that you shall view the cameras from internet, If your camera is directly connected to network using RJ45 simply do the port redirection to IP address of CCTV camera.

Cctv remote view/ adtran total access 900e

It's not likely that VZ gave you dynamic IP's, but it's possible. You should have been given more than one. If not, it's better to get more and a set of configuration instructions. In the last one I set up, we put a 5-port switch on the ethernet port coming off the Adtran, then fed 2 routers and a security system from the switch. Our gateway was one number lower than the bank of IP's we had, and we just gave each piece of equipment a static ip address and gateway to the gateway :-)
