I have replaced 3 alternators in a two month period. Could I get a list of reasons for a faulty alternator in a 1988 cadillac seville

Normal charging voltage for an alternator on a 12 volt system is between 13.8 and 14.2 volts, when tested at the battery the voltage should be 14.2 when the engine is running and 12 when not as you are only reading the battery not the alternator input

T528G message "connection Failed"

At 3 years old its electronics may not be operating fast enough to cope with modern network switching rates. After 3 years its had a good run, even a very cheap phone of a known brand (e.g. Samsung) from a supermarket will be better than a 3 year old phone.

My makita batteries nolonger charge

Lithium batteries do have a life span determined by how many times the battery is discharged and recharged and how hard it is worked on the tool. Batteries get hot while charging and discharging and heat is what ages batteries. Lithium batteries, depending on usage, will last from one to three years. I've seen some last five years but that's rare. They also have numerous cells and a circuit board that can go bad and kill the battery. Chargers are designed to check the battery's condition and won't charge a battery if it detects something wrong. If your battery is under one year old, it's covered by the warranty. If it's over, you'll have to buy a new battery.

Uniden battery will not charge

If the recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and graduallythe charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The batteryshows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops offto zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptablecharge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

I keep putting in new or recharged batteries and every time I get ready to use my camera if it over a week, it says change the batteries. This has just started happening the last 3 months. The camera is...

The rechargeable batteries, especialy NiCD and NiMH ones, loose they're charge over time. Even if fully charged, they loose all of the charge within a week or two. This is not a malfunction.

However, if you are using alcaline batteries and still get this problem, probably you have some electric problems inside (maybe some batteries leaked in the past). In this case try cleaning the inner contacts of the battery slot. If the problem persists, go to a local electronist for repairs.

It's eight years old now, and if as you say it has had intermittent use, then the battery will probably have died unless charged at last once a month.
