Question about Sansui HDLCD3210 32 in. LCD TV

Digital tv suddenly no signal

The set is just over a year old, have never had any problems. Signal strength has always been good, picture quality great. Two days ago I watched it til late, no problems but when I turned it on the next evening all I got was a black screen with a blue square containing a message 'no signal'. We've unplugged all cables and leads, checked all fittings and re connected them all. Still the same message. We have an outside Ariel which appears to be fine. There hasn't been any strong winds etc... Help!

SOURCE: TV is hooked to cable; we have audio but screen is

Well then it MUST be covered by a Warranty, as you get at least 12 months manufacturers defect protection. (If it spontaneously fails, inside that period, it is assumed to be a manufacturers fault, unless external influences could be proved, IE: Lightning strike, power surge, etc)
What you need to do, is contact the place you purchased the unit from, and ask, demand? that it be REPLACED. NOT repaired, and indicate that it is unacceptable for this to occur but you do understand. You are just exercising your consumer rights,
The consumers guarantee act, allows you redress from the actual SELLER, THEY must remedy, by replacement OR repair at the CUSTOMERS discretion.
So, go and get you new, replacement set. Don't give up until you do, get a replacement.
You may find on contacting the seller that they are aghast this has happened and will ship a new one to you immediately.. well it could happen..?
If you do not get satisfaction get in touch with Sansui direct, that will get things along. Contact link below.

Ten years is two lifetimes for a Plasma, it most likely is either the display panel itself or a main board, in either case not cost effective to repair or smart but the real problem would be parts, I bet almost zero is available for this.

SOURCE: there is no sound with black screen

depending on how much you leave your TV on, it could be that internal chips could have fried and needs a tech to replace parts for picture and audio from manufacture.

Why i can't receive dtv

It is difficult to give you an accurate answer as there are so many things involved.

If you were getting a good TV signal before digital then there is every chance the aerial you have will pull in a reasonable digital signal.

The trouble can start from there. You must have good quality quad shield coax cable all the way from the aerial to the back of the TV. Old coax cable used with analogue TV won't do it for you. Even a short length of old cable can ruin the signal.

Then, you might need a digital signal amp if the cable has been split anywhere to different rooms.

It is possible on your TV to display 2 coloured bars, one to indicate signal strength and the other signal quality. They are not graduated with numbers, but should generally be about 3/4 along minimum for a decent picture. You can therefore see what is wrong in a gross way.

I have a lg model 42px5d tv which will not tune to all digital channels I have been told there maybe a fix for this but not sure where to find it

Usually, with this problem, it's due to low signal strength. Digital TV needs a good quality DTV antenna. GOOD QUALITY cables and connectors are also a good idea. If you live in a low signal strength area, u may also need an amplified antenna.

There is not a problem with the TV despite it's age this is can be due to your reception of the digital package for BBC. Have you checked through he full listings? sometimes the BBC channel will be at a different number setting because of the transmitter you are receiving. I assume you are using a digital box, you can enter a menu which will give you an indication of the strength & quality of the incoming signal. Do you pick up some of the other BBC channels such as BBC3 or CBBC? It's possible your aerial strength is a bit weak for the digital BBC package & you may need to have that looked at.

Tv set just lost its ability to display digital channels

Your problem is definitely the input signal source to your tv. It is extremely rare where a new tv has a tuner signal sensitivity problem. The best thing to do is to replace your current set of rabbit ears with a different set of powered rabbit ears that have a higher gain rating with a variable gain control. Please note that the gain control setting is critical when setting up your tuner for auto-programming. If the gain control is set too low or too high it will result in your symptom.

If you still can't get it to work you could try buying a line amplifier which you would install to the rabbit ears before the tv. If you still can't get it to work you'll have no choice but to purchase an outside antennae as a result of your being in a weak signal area as signal quality changes by such things as the switch over to digital upcoming and environmental changes.

NTSC and ATSC and that would depend if or which set will get the better signal. Also remember that off air is analog and the sets are now design for digital.
