How do you get into CMOS at start up? the laptop has a blank HDD. need to install win98 on it. Can you advise how I invoke CMOS>?
screen just comes up with Pheonix bios ver 4.04thats it. will not move forward or check the hdd nothing.

Try hitting the escape key first during boot up, then it will prompt you to hit F1. that'll get a in!

Try tapping the F2 key when it first starts up. Sometimes different computers use the delete key at start up. One or the other should give you your bios screen where you'll be setting your cd rom as the first boot up device.
