Cant install windows xp on packard bell pav80 mini 10 "

i have the same problem with the 3 pc here in my shop 1st problem is DVD/cd Drive can't read the CD even the CD is new and no scratches. but if i tried plug it to other computer and load other cd its working so i had a conclusion that the CD drive is choosing what DVD/CD to read. so i change the DVD drive

now it's ok it can read my window xp service pack3 and now its loading but the 2nd problem is, when window xp load it will suddenly stop and displaying error saying missing boot.sys.dll press escape to exit.

now if this the same problem you are having. check your memory card.it seems that it has some inconsistency issues thy testing it using a memory card testing tools or have it replace

i wish my little knowledge may help you
rate me up if this solve your problem and let me know if i did help you
tnx

Hi i have a packardbell easy note mx recently my windows xp is crashed so i had installed piracy windows xp its working normally ,i just need to know that on the back of my laptop their is a serial number...

Yes, as long as it's same XP as you had before (either Home, Professional or Media Centre Edition). Microsoft activation recognises serial number and also version of OS you are activating, so as long as these both match, no problem. As far as driver disc goes, contact store you bought it from, they just may have needed a copy as one stage, or be able to contact somebody who owns the same model to see if they would be prepared to burn a copy for you. Hope this helps

Cannot get windows xp back on to my computer.

Assuming the computer has a Microsoft XP product code tag on it (so you can be legit & legal), see if you can borrow an XP installation CD from a friend.

Sometimes the reinstall is set up on a separate partition on the hard disk, which of course, is totally useless if the hard drive has failed in a catastrophic way.

You could also contact Packard Bell (I thought this company was history), to see if replacement disk(s) are available. Have your computer's Model & Serial handy. The disks won't be free, but likely much less than a Walmart etc, supplied edition.

Cant get vista off my pakardbell i media x2414 i would like to put xp on it

Dear Sir.

In order to get xp on your computer.

You need to install windows xp by formating your computer by using the windows xp operating system cd.

If your computer comes vista installed on that you need to get xp cd from your packerd bell support.

I want to remove pre installed software on my Packard bell computer using XP home edition

http://pcdecrapifier.com/

Try this to see if that will fix your problem. Alot of new computers come with crapware installed in order to boost their profit margin. This will help you identify and eliminate it.

If you cannot see the speaker icon in the taskbar, click on Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices and tick place icon in the taskbar. That's if a driver has been installed for your sound device which is a creative sounblaster I think.
