Low preusre

If the pump basket is clean and there are no suction leaks, the problem may be that debris has gotten past the pump basket and is clogging the impeller.
A quick way to check is to fill the pump pot (where the basket goes) with water. Leave the lid off and start the pump. The water should be sucked out immediately.
If the water takes more than about half a second to go down you have a clogged impeller and the pump needs to be opened to clear it.

Sounds like you don't have the pump lid "0" ring seated properly under the lid, or there is dirt or leaves on the "0" ring. This has to seal perfectly or the pump will not pump much if any water.

Not self priming itself. when it turns off the water pushes back out of the skimmer and pushes the basket up. it loses water and the pump cant re-prime itself.

PRIME PUMP, OPEN AIR VALVE ON FILTER. OR TAKE THE LID OFF YOUR FILTER AND SEE IF IT STARTS TO PUMP... YOU DO HAVE IT PLUMBED RIGHT? THE PIPE COMING OUT OF THE PUMP GOES TO THE FILTER !! I'M YOUR LOCAL POOL PUMP REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA. WHERE THE POOL IS ALWAYS OPEN

1.5 hp waterway champion pool pump issue

Be sure you have connected the motor to the line leads correctly and that the motor is set for the proper line voltage.

A somewhat common problem is that most motors are dual voltage (can be ran on 115 or 230 volt) and come factory set for 230 volts. If you connect it to a 115 volt circuit it will run for a while and then overheat and shut off.

try "duct tape" the fittings and drain to seal those areas, refill and see if water is still leaking, if so it's your live-well is cracked somewhere, and can be repaired on the inside with fiberglass resin..... if not then most likely the fittings/pump/hoses/etc....yes its a pain .Champions don't have alot of room to access any of that...got a Ranger myself....hope this helps and see you on the water....GL

Our Champion well pump has quit

is there any water in the well, you might have to check and make sure you have enough water it is supposed to be submerged in water not just the tip of the pump, you will have to pull the pump out of the ground in order to check this, just for caution you might want to have your local plumber come out good luck
